SSI

I am very nervous giving out my SSI and banking information on some of the secret shopper sites especially if they are not secured sites. Some of the sites are rated as good to work for here on the forum. Has anyone ever had any issues with scammers? I do my research on anything I sign up with it is just one of my pet peeves especially before I am "hired" so to speak. Your thoughts?

I have had no issues and I have been registering on line with companies for about a dozen years now and in 'the good old days' when I was registering, very few offered a secure website (but not all required an SS# either until you approached $600).

I never have an issue giving out my banking information because that information is freely available on every check I write. The information on your check allows money to go into your account without much question. It is money being pulled out of your account that the bank has responsibility to ensure legitimacy.
Do you have an EIN (Employer ID Number) from the IRS? Some MSPs will take the EIN instead of your SSN number. EINs are free and easy to get on the IRS's website.
Do your homework before getting an EIN. In my community it becomes an excuse for taxing authorities to put their hands in your pockets for licensing fees and 'business inspections'. Also, many residential neighborhoods allow no home based businesses. Do your homework to make sure you have no untoward surprises.
