scan, ew! Why do you shop there, just curious?
I know the prices are good, but they are higher in bad neighborhoods. I do audits for two of their locations, one in a good neighborhood, and one in a bad neighborhood. Eggs in the good neighborhood are $0.99 a dozen. Eggs in the other location are $1.09.
They are what I call a stock up store. I do a stock up buy as the house brand is just as good for: Canned diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, kidney beans, Pinto beans, broth, stock, sloppy joe, pasta, canned peaches in light syrup, instant rice, sugar, flour, waffle mix, mayonnaise, dried spices, and staples like milk, eggs, bacon, and the link sausage is better than Publix. The onions, potatoes, celery, green peppers and mushrooms are good. The frozen potato rounds are as good as Orida brand. I'd stay away from fresh veggies as well.
I would not buy fresh meat or any of the prepared frozen foods.
It's worth a stop once a month to fill the pantry and save more than 1/2 price compared to Publix.
