Competition... Alas....

Over the past two months, I've picked up almost $3000 from a certain MSP... It had seemed liked I was one of about two shoppers in the region for that company - and the other shopper flaked frequently... I never worked for the initial offering and had all the jobs that I could handle. Now it appears as if there are about four more shoppers in the area and all the shops are being grabbed at the initial offer. Alas.... I guess it's time to find a new favorite company...

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Business. Many shoppers/forum members brag about mystery shopping to their friends and family and those people tell more people and so on and so forth. Then people wonder why they are not making the money that they used to. I say keep mystery shopping a mystery and keep your mouth shut. But that is me and it works well for me.
Many companies are offering $5, $10, $20 and can you believe a $50 referral payment??? They keep this up to get those fast $$$ dollars in our pockets so they have a base of shoppers to pick from who will snag up $5 shops instead of the well deserved $50 on some of these trips.

I hate it when that happens. I've had the same thing happen to me. I just hang in there - many of the new shoppers burn out quickly when they get tired of free burgers etc.or when the cost of vehicle upkeep catches up to them. And remember: Someone else was getting those great bonuses before you came along. winking smiley
Yeah this is my current state of affairs as well. I decided it's a great opportunity to do a bunch of shops for MSC's I usually don't have time for. I'm scheduled to the max. So far it's working out well, but then things are always working out for me.
I'm hardly shopping in my "home area" right now. Because I took up a long route in a bordering state about 120 miles away, I'm pretty much taking anything and everything I can get out there. (and this is working well and helps with rotation issues in my primary area). So, you're competition could be really just be a shopper like me right now. Eventually, we'll leave you're area alone!
Often times it is a rotation thing. Or they want another shopper's prospective without saying it upfront.
