It really depends, this obviously walked a thin line between professionalism and that's up to you to make that decision.
It's like on my full time job whenever vendors treat me out to lunch or even alcoholic beverages after work hours for "business parties." Understand what you're getting into and if it'll tarnish your reputation and any companies you're representing.
If you decide to take a selfie with the guy, I'd obviously hide any trace of the mystery shopping company you're representing. Again, it'll be up to you to know what you're allowed and not allowed to do. Some of those guidelines will specifically state to keep the interaction with the store employees brief and not talk about the work. At the same time, sounds like the employee isn't necessarily pestering you about the work specifically anyways.
