Pharmacy Shops

I did a shop this week where I had to pick up a prescription and evaluate the service in the pharmacy. The scheduler wants me to do more shops with a nice bonus. The thing is, I'm not on any medication, other than OTC allergy pills.

When I did the shop, I went to Urgent Care, got a prescription (no refills), and did the shop.

What are my options for prescriptions?

RXs are just that RXs. If you don't have a Rx, then you really can't fulfilled the shop. Maybe a relative (close-by) needs a Rx filled.

Were you supposed to used the Rx card supplied by the Client or see if the retail offered a cut cost Rx card?

BTW, most hospitals, dr.s offices, and clinics , now electronically transfer prescriptions to "Your" pharmacysmiling smiley

Thanks sojo.

I don't have any prescriptions to transfer.

This pharmacy, while not an HMO, is a part of a "under one roof" network. For the shop, I can fill prescriptions for myself or my husband. He has a different insurance, so I can't fill his prescription.

Prescription vitamins (maybe with fluoride) If you are female ask for a scrip for Diflucan to have on hand for the inevitable yeast infection. Or some birth control pills. You could keep them in reserve to use like Plan B if needed.
Thanks Frugal!!!!! I forgot that during the winter months, my vitamin D levels drop since I don't exercise outside as much. That will be perfect.

Oooh that Diflucan one is a great idea! I have to have some dental work done that will require antibiotics, pain meds, and then perhaps that Diflucan. I wonder if I could pick up my antibiotics at one pharmacy, pain meds at another, and then go try that Diflucan dealio and hit up a third pharmacy... starting to sound like a plan in my head...

clinen, that sounds like a perfect trifecta!!!!

The issue that I ran into was that my prescription was free. The receipt they gave me did not reflect an item I didn't pay for.

Also, make sure that the prescription doesn't have to be ordered. They didn't have Vitamin D in stock this early, so they had to order it.

You can still get some of the OTC allergy pills by RX. You don't want to know what they cost. My dr. prescribed Flonase, and I had it filled (or tried) and found out it cost about 4X by RX than just walking to the shelf and buying something.

I don't pay for prescriptions under my insurance.

The OTC allergy med that I needed was Claritan-D, but they were sold out. Because it's regulated, I need a prescription to get it. I had to jump through so many hoops, I said forget it. It would be easier to get it from Meth Head Mike.

Luckily, my allergy symptoms are minimal now.

I used to know a Meth Head Maggie she was involved with my stepson.
2stepps, PLEASE give Meth Head Maggie my number! I need D in November and April. If she's out of jail, I can help her make a semi honest living!

Yeah, it's insane. Anything D is the only thing that works to clear my head. Claritan stops the faucet. I have a legitimate need for this. I have to do backflips and cartwheels at the same time. Meanwhile, I'm congested and runny at the same time. I'm up against roadblocks at every turn.

However Meth Head Mike gets his supply is beyond me.
