Ran into same employee at different location

So I'm shopping this chain of furniture stores. I did one, got the consultation, left, did the next one, left, did the next one. Just when leaving the third one, I ran into the employee who had consulted me at the first one. He stopped, stared, said hi. I was like "oh... hi... I like to compare... He was like "that's fine", I don't think he worked it out. I had more branches in the area a few days later and was really afraid I might run into him but it all went well and the staff wasn't suspicious, I got a couple excellent consultations but also a few average and even miserable ones. One mentioned he could ask the area manager to bring an item for me from another branch as he was travelling between branches. Ouch.

I've run into the same many times -- to the point where if I have several locations for the same client and it's either the week before or after a holiday, I'll hammer all of them in an afternoon to avoid this.
I did a fitness club shop. The associate that I interacted with at location A was at the location B in my town on the day of my shop. He recognized me and had to make up an excuse that I wanted to check out this location since he had mentioned that they had one in my town. He commented that he worked at both locations.
I did a lot of cremation places.. i'm ALWAYS very afraid i'll run into the same employee.. so far, never, but still.. they have VERY LITTLE ACTIVITY, so chances are up in the air.. I like these, I just use the not favorite people in my life and they are the ones that need preplanning smiling smiley smiling smiley
Happened to me today as well....doing my grocery and I see my beloved butcher from same store I shop close to my home. He runs up to me and says, "Hey, good to see you, what are you doing so far from home. I ask'what he's he's doing here and he says, they promoted and transfered him to this location. Awkward!!

Live consciously....
I had this happen last week at a cell phone shop. I started talking to an employee, then the manager came over and said I looked familiar. He asked if I had been in a particular location a few weeks earlier, and I said I wasn't sure. It totally rattled me and I ended up not completing the shop. Thankfully, the MSC was understanding.
It happens to me alot. In my town, most of the 'franchises' are owned by the same person/couple/team. For example: On the back of the MetroPCS cards are lists of 6 different locations, all owned by the same person no less. At least 3 of the Papa John's are owned by the same family. I've had a cover story for more than 20 years though. I've always maintained that I work at a certain company and that company requires me to go to the different locations and check out their books. That's why I'm inquiring at this store that happens to be 300 miles away from where I told you I lived last time I saw you. I don't really care what they think anyway.
I should have mentioned that I had done an audit at the other store, and was now doing a mystery shop.
It happened to me at a mall where there were two cell phone locations owned by the same company, one being a kiosk and the other an actual store. I visited the kiosk first and then made my way to the store. The employee at the kiosk was already at the other store when I walked in and he looked at me strangely and walked over to me. I told him I wanted to see if they offered a larger selection at the second store. I shopped him twice and had to explain in my reports that I was using the same business card for both locations, and actually the address on the card was for another store about a mile away where he also worked on different days! I had a good relationship with the MSC so they accepted my reports.
It happened to me with a gas station. The manager of some stations that I audit was at a station I was mystery shopping at. He arrived after I had pumped my gas. When I went in to get the $1.00 item he told the guy not to charge me. We went back and forth and he wouldn't let me pay. As soon as I left the station I called the MSC and the lady got a laugh out of it and told me to put that in the report.
This happens to me more than I like with one company. Unfortunately the company requires the shopper to ask certain questions and it makes the encounter awkward to say the least.

I just play my old lady card and say I never remember one minute to the next.

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning; the devil shudders...And yells OH #%*+! SHE'S AWAKE!
This happens to my at my area blue banks. I makes you feel goofy. smiling smiley

A Dad shopping the Ark-LA-Tex and beyond.
This happened to me a few months ago on an oil change shop. I had taken my other car into a different location roughly a week before. One employee remembered me. He didn't mention anything about being the ms but he did say, "Hey, didn't I change your oil the other day at the other location on a different car?" I'm not sure if he was suspicious or not. I guess it would depend on whether or not they'd already gotten the report back on my first visit, otherwise, I don't think it would've been seen as odd since both locations were in the same town, just different areas.
I have two bank shops, 100 miles apart. Targeted, of course. Call bank #1 for an appointment. Target from Bank #2 calls me back! I told him I would check my calendar and call him back. Called the scheduler to let her know. Result? Some other lucky shopper just picked up a $225 banking shop.
