Application error "Need a valid daytime/nighttime phone number"

I keel putting in my cell mumber checl the this is a cell number box, but it keeos saying it needs a valid phone number. Anyone know why?

Maybe it's a formatting error? For example, +15555555 as opposed to 15555555 or (555) 555-5555?
