Aldi Audit

This is the audit that's done on Wednesday and Tuesday. When the email went out for next week's shop, did anyone notice a lower fee?

I don't do the audits, but I noticed that the fee for Aldi's regular mystery shop went down a dollar this month. That's the shop with the major MSC that offered a minor fee to begin with. I think the audit is a different MSC.

The audit is with a Sassie company. I haven't checked the fee in a while, so I don't know about that. The regular MS with the MSC that typically offers low fees has them listed for a fee of $3.00/reimb $5.00 in my area. There is one location that apparently had a flake, because they are offering that one at a "changed fee" of $8.00 plus the $5.00 reimb.

This is different. I still do that shop because it fits in with when I buy my groceries. The one I am referring to, you count the weekly specials on Wednesdays and again on Tuesdays. The MSC sent out a correction, and the fee has stayed the same.

That's good, because if it's as regular a gig as they claim, it's a pretty good job for someone. I can't do it because of the hours. Otherwise I would have requested it, but the hours don't fit with my schedule. Are you going to try and do it, Honny?? If so, let us know how it goes.
guys, I've been doing it since I got laid off earlier this year. I do two locations, and have picked up some additional ones when asked.

They are fun! And I enjoy seeing how many different items I can get for $1. This week, it was carrots and bananas.

What part of the country are you guys from? I just did this job for $30 and $2 reimbursement. I would not do it again at the same store though. The list was long enough that it took me 50 minutes to find the scattered products on the first day. The problem being that I was in the same aisle for so long the guard kept watching me.
Your Aldi has a guard?!

The scheduler said that the new locations are $30. The list changes every week. This weeks' list was long. If the number of items to count is over 40, you get a bonus. I think we were at 39.

There are several Aldi stores in my tri-state area which have security guards. Most of the Save-a-Lot stores which I visit has a security guard.

WOW! At a grocery store? Really? I can see maybe a bank, but not a grocery store.

Do people get shot for stealing limes?

The Aldi on Washington Ave in Indianapolis has a guard as well. It was a first for me. Thankfully I was between two when I lived there and went to the other. Glad to be out of the area.
I have done the ALDI shops and enjoy it as a frequent shopper. I didn't know about the audits. I live in the midst of a shopper's mecca though. Any hints on the MSP for the audits so I can look into this?
Thanks and Happy New Year!
Happy New Year CAB! Unfortunately, this is the only shop that I do for them, so I don't know what else they have.

I stopped doing the audits in 2017 due to a time conflict. They two locations I did have been posted for a lower fee.

Hi Cabzmom! You can call 727-498-5635 is you are interested in doing these audit shops. They pay $32 which include a $2.00 reimbursement for POV. It involves 2 shops with a covert count of items anywhere between 15 and 40. Anything over 40 items (which is very rare) gets a $4 bonus. Typical weeks are around 25-30 items. Shops must be done at 9am on Wednesdays (when their weekly specials start), and 9am Tuesdays (when the sale for that week ends)

Here there are gangs, I guess you'd call them, of people that have made a profession of stealing from supermarkets. They're known as mecheros. They work in groups, focus on the more expensive products and hide large amounts of merchandise in their clothes, bags kids' strollers, etc. Therefore, the supermarkets are swarming with security guards.

For a former job I had to go to supermarkets and take data such as pack sizes and prices for different brands. The first time I naïvely just walked in and started writing things down. I was approached by a guard in less than 5 minutes and told I had to register with the security office first.

More recently I did some audit work that included taking pictures in supermarkets. Fortunately, it was permitted to announce myself and show a letter about what I was doing. There is no way I could have been in a store for an hour or 2 taking notes and pictures without a guard noticing me and probably asking me to leave.
