PolarX shop reimbursement not covering full amount - frustrated!

I just completed a PolarX ornament shop. The max reimbursement is $15, but when I went to the kiosk I found out that the cheapest ornament is $16.99 (plus tax), and those are the non-Christmas ones. The Christmas ones start at $19.99. I'm lucky I got a $10 bonus with this shop, otherwise it would have cost me money to complete it. I did mention this to the MSC, so hopefully they will fix that. I'm happy I did not do a reimbursement only shop, but with the gas to get there it was not worth it. Especially since I didn't really need the ornament I picked.

Vent done.

I saw those shops but being Jewish, I don't need holiday ornaments...they have them every year. Not fair to have you use your bonus to buy it.....I always pass on that one.

This company is cheap and not sure why people do their jobs. First they do and then complain.

They used to have a company I loved and got bonused for, but lost account after 10 years, and since I don't like their pizza, nothing right now for me....you never know what they'll get again.

I get three of these every year for my daughters. The average Christmas ornament is $25. I consider it a 20 percent off coupon and im happy to have it. Easy peasy too
At my local store the ornaments were only $15 plus tax, or 2 for $25. I got one and am giving it as a gift.

It is not the MSC that makes up the fee and reimbursement amount; it is the client. The MSC may try to guide the client towards a more reasonable amount but ultimately it is the client's decision.

Also, I learned very quickly when I first started MS'ing years ago, I do not take reimbursement shops (fee or no fee) if I do not want or need the required purchase. I don't want Legos but I take the shops so I can donate the gift to kids in need.
Why not find a coupon which there are out there and skip the shop altogether?? No report.

Not all shops pay for everyth8ng, thats what I've found and I'm ok with that. I want some outlet items, one costs $75 and the shop pays $20. The shop is easy for $20 and I do them also, my kitchen is full of high quality stuff i could have otherwise only bought walmart crap for what i paid in excess if the shop fee
In the current age of apps and coupons almost every one that has reimbursement only you can dig and find a free coupon. ZERO report.

Hmmm, I haven't found that to be true for Le Creuset and certain other brands. Sees, TFal, anyway, i could use a coupon on these plus get shop pay. If they want me to write a novel, forget about it. But if they want me to click radio buttons and regurgitate what the radio buttons say in a bland, non objective way, yes, she was wearing a name tag and privided a genuinely friendly greeting NO PROBLEM. Its paying off for me.
I did a Polar X shop and got an awesome ornament for $13.99 out the door + a $15 bonus. Worth it because I was going to the mall anyways.

I agree...I recently did my Crate and Barrel and I collect wine glasses, liking to use different ones at a nice dinner. I love their stuff and got it free (report and reimbursement), cost was 20.00 for glass, ten$ report, ten$
reimbursement...may not have paid 20.00 for a wine glass, coupon for Crate and Barrel, where?

I have one in my hands right now......$20 off any purchase and Crate and Barrell actually just came in todays mail, no restrictions.

Still won't be free..coupons usually is spending 50.00 or something like that, and since I didn't get it, it's not an option..

Free is free if you buy $20 on a $20 coupon. I can easily find a $20 item in there.
Just tax.
NO REPORT>

I did two a couple years ago. I was glad to get near-free ornaments. However, I did Not think the inventory was easy peasy at all. One of the kiosks had at least 20 non-standard ornaments to photo. Shoppers walking in the way, blocking the shots. I could not get the entire kiosk in any shot at one location because of space. A friend had her shop declined due to photos, so I took twice as many pics, then had to Resize them (ugh) and check, then weed out the dupes. I had at least 50 pics of just one shop. And the counting!!!! Omigosh! Waaaaayyyy too much time for me!

At one location, another mall employee was taking pics of me and sharing "the mystery shopper" on social media. No biggie. Not much in that mall I like to shop, anyway. And my appearance has changed quite a bit since.
Wow, where can I find that coupon Canadamommy?

50 pics, wow, that's something. I would have turned the camera on that employee and said "World Star!"
I get coupons for Le Creuset all the time in the mail. I love cooking with them. If you order online, order thru Ebates; the current promotion is 5% Cash Back. And no report!
spicy 1- buy something once there and get on mailing list. No credit card. Just mailers. I get $20 off every single month and can find items easily for free.
There were two on the board last month waiting for me. By the time I got around to scheduling one, they were gone. I would've loved this shop but now have concerns over "Counting?" as one of you have reported. Pix and all, I think I would've taken 50+ pictures too.
Off the original subject but relevant to the conversation about Crate & Barrel, I found the best little stocking stuffer this week. For $9.99, I got a mini electric waffle maker. It makes a single round waffle about 4-1/2 inches in diameter. I'm sorry I only got one and I'm going back for more. I only saw red ones but they might come in other colors. Except for the tax, it was covered by my reimbursement.
I did one and the cheapest ornament came to $15.12 with tax. I frown upon any shop whose client does not provide enough reimbursement to buy their required product, but at least it was only 12 cents this time.
All ornaments on the cart I shopped were $12.99. I'm tripping out on how they were so much more for some of you guys.

RetailMeNot, GroupOn, snail mail, company websites all offer coupons.

I got my Le Creuset Soup Pot for $50 from the outlet with a Retail Me Not coupon.

I shop Groupon often and got a Mani-Pedi for 13.00...turned out great.

I like Groupon and Living Social, but found an even better one: GetMyPerks

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
