MSPS still paying by check

I just had to email Sinclair for them to reissue a check which I never received for shops done in Sept. I received the check from them for my shops done in Oct on Monday 11/28/16. According to their site it was mailed on 11/21/17. So I can safely assume that my check for my Sept shops mailed again according to Sinclair on 10/27/16 was lost in the mail. Why must we deal with this behind the times companies who still insist on issuing checks. I know I am free to choose not to work with such companies but have never had problems until now with receiving checks. I will state that Sinclair has been and continues to be a good company to do shops for. They can be a little cheap as far as pay but I pick and choose what shops to do and use manly as fillers.

Back to the lost check the site says "Please note the DATE SENT column on this report. This is the date (or approximate date) your check was mailed from Sinclair. Please allow 10 working days for delivery, before inquiring."

I initially emailed them about my missing check 11/16/16 14 business days after check was supposedly issued. The response:
"Thank you for your email. Once we mail the check it is subject to USPS delays and frequently checks are delivered after 14 to 21 days. I am unable to replace a check that is less than 30 days old.
If you have not received your check by December 1st please reply to this email with the check information as well as the reason it needs to be replaced. Manual payments are run the 10th of each month so payment will be processed on December 10th.
Thank you."

So I must wait till Dec 10th for a check to be mailed and may not get it till perhaps the last day of Dec according to them but most likely around 7 days after mailing at the latest so lets say Dec 17th. This is for shops done way back in Sept all because they can't get with the times and use direct deposit or paypal or even Dowlla or Pay Quicker or Bill.com. I mean even the stone age Maritz now has direct deposit.

I hate mail. Really, I do. USPS is so backwards and slow, I detest that I have to use them. Your check is probably sitting in the corner of a cart in Astoria. They'll find it when they feel like it.

I realize that I'm old-fashioned, and likely in the minority among my MS peers, but I enjoy the frequent thrill of opening the mailbox and seeing a check among the tons of junk mail.
Shoppers Critique still sends checks by the mail. This is what I don't understand. When I mail back my netflix - yes I still get DVDs in the mail - it takes 2 days for me to have another DVD in the mail. Why does USPS take 7-10 days to deliver the paper checks? If I mail to a family member across the country they still get it in 3 days. This 7-10 day wait seems suspicious to me.
I love the thrill of getting a notice that a direct deposit is in my bank account!

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Shoppers Critique offers PayPal. I'm suspicious of the 14-21 day wait for USPS mail, too. First class mail is delivered within 3 business days. If the MSC puts a stamp on the envelope, you should have it in 3 days, not 3 weeks.
After being with the company and doing shops, I do not recall how many or the time of being with them, but eventually they offer the shopper direct deposit. It has been a while since my DD started so I do not know how long it took.
I would like all the MSPs to pay electronically.
Being on the road constantly, it forces me to have to have someone check my mail and deposit money for me.

It's very inconvenient, potentially invasive(because I'm single, I have rely on family or friends to check my mail) and a huge hassle. Then, I'm on the road having to be concerned about getting money in the bank.

I get why they're doing it - float of the cash longer in their account, perceived or real costs involved in issuing electronically, etc....

It would be better if it was electronic - PayPal, direct deposit, or some other online account/bank.

I got a paper check today from Business Observations - 7 weeks after completing the shop.
I had The Source (msi/trend) take me back to checks. My bank closed my acct (as***) and froze my money. I do not like the new place online they're using?? so checks are fine.. now, WHEN will USPS terminate? HATE THEM.
TNS does checks.Secret shopper, Sinclair,Bestmark ...These are ones that I can think of that do exclusively checks.
Bestmark has direct deposit available. It has been a year or more since I switched over.
Mintel, Shoppers, Inc.

Just when I think I hate checks, i get one I'd forgotten about...thanks Mercantile, I love getting your checks.

Live consciously....
Most recently, I received checks from TNS and Maritz. When offered an option I choose PayPal first, then direct deposit.
I like finding random cheques in the mail, like others have mentioned.

But I do regular, almost weekly work, for VeriTES. Waiting on cheques from them is lame. At least I am not usually waiting on big payments.
