Beating my competition

I'm traveling and I am now in Eastern time zone. I was able to schedule some shops in my home area of California that usually disappear before I can get them. I've been able to do this before on other trips. It pays to be three hours ahead of the competition. I guess I could just wake up three hours earlier to do the same thing when I'm not traveling!

You may want to check your time zone math. 9am EST is 6am PST.

Oh, now I get it.

The early bird gets the worm! I have also noticed that when I am on the East Coast I beat out a lot of my competition because I am up an hour earlier than they are since I am usually in Central. I bet you would REALLY notice the difference between California and the East Coast ..... you are up 3 hours befoe them. I'm not sure I'd want to get up 3 hours earlier when I wasn't traveling, though!

I have read your post a couple of times and I am completely puzzled by your comment.

I believe kenasch is saying is that she is 3 hours "ahead" when she is in the East. If she gets up at 7AM in the Eastern time zone and checks her email, it is only 4AM in California, so she is "ahead" in that most of her competition in California is still sleeping.

Her time zone math seems to be the same as yours. Could you explain what you are talking about?
If @kenasch, traveling 70 miles per hour (mph), leaves Westford heading toward Eastford, 260 miles away. At the same time @isaiah58, traveling 60 mph, leaves Eastford heading toward Westford. When do the two forum members meet? How far from @Jay C do they meet?

I understood what the poster meant. She is up and at'em three hours before anyone else because it's later on this coast. If you usually wake up around 5 or 6 AM (EST) it's still the wee hours of the night in the west coast in PST. Another perk is that when you do shops on this coast and your company is on the other, often times you can catch them in the office "late". I can call the west coast at 8pm and folks will still be at work because it's only 5.

I guess you were on a slower train! But you finally reached your destination! winking smiley
You think you have time zone issues! I have two theater checks (count the 3D glasses), in two towns about a 45 minute drive apart. The first theater is on EST and the second is CST. The reports get filled out using local time. I warned the MSC that the times on the report may show that I did the checks in two places at around the same time.
