Chipotle Shops

Pua, that's just the salad dressing. All of the other ingredients, I'm assuming, have similar levels of sodium. Add all of it together....

Not that I have any health issues, but this is why I minimize my eating out. When I cook at home, I know exactly what goes in my food.

Cooking at home I don't use salt and when shopping always buy lower sodium...was able to get off those nasty blood pressure pills that screw up your liver, Doc. says, I'm in amazing health (for my age), everyone has to add that in.

Irene, my husband was told he had to get on blood pressure medication a few years ago. He doesn't like taking medicine because of the side effects, so I told him we could address it at home. The medication that he took gave him terrible muscle cramps.

The canned/bottled items were tomatoes, beans and salad dressing. I made those from scratch or bought fresh. I started buying non-brined meats. The uncured bacon tasted like crap, so bacon remained, but in moderation.

I use vinegar or lime juice instead of salt for the same effect.

No more meds!

That's great, isn't it amazing how it helps.Side effects from pills are devestating.. Iuse lemon juice, garlic and olive oil for my salad dressing, make all my own soups without salt, they are delicious, cannot eat canned soup
I've gotten used to pure taste and do use some herbs usingTurmeric (very good for you) in my soups and chicken, adds lots of flavor. I do cheat, but am 80% a healthy eater and it shows. I eat out quite a bit, tonight I'm doing my "healthy pizza" thin crust, veggies with low fat cheese. I think it fun taking care of myself, as I see
friends aging and unhealthy. So far, so good...let's keep it up!!

I get the salad bowl which has the same ingredients as the regular bowl but a lot more lettuce. I ask for the tortilla on the side and the dressing. I use the salsa (all three red ones) for dressing so I take the little container of dressing back home or keep it at my desk at work and use it when I bring a big salad for lunch.
They almost never ask if I want fajitas and that is my favorite part of the meal. Sometimes I have had to ask them to go back if they slide my bowl down too fast without the fajitas. Does this happen to other fajitas eaters?

Thank you, that was very sweet.

I sometimes miss doing Chipotle shops, especially now that I'm in AL and it would only end up being maybe one per month. Back in CA I seemed to be the only shopper in my area or one of very few and I was being assigned 10 or more to start, and then the scheduler would offer bonus' to do several more at the end of the month. I got burned out bad and had to take a break. I even cut back on all of my other shops that required long narratives. It was just too much.

I still like the food a lot, but it's difficult to find the steak prepared correctly. It always seems overcooked, dried out and rubbery when I go there now. Did Chipotle change the cooking directions for the steaks, are they supposed to be gray and ugly now?

It isn't worded quite that way, but the short answer is, "Yes."

Is there a charge for the training? I thought I read that somewhere.

No charge to attend the training. You actually get paid to attend - but they hold the payment contingent on you successfully completing your first shop. When you get paid for the first shop you do, you will also get paid for the training. And, at the training, you get a free meal. After the training, the last thing you do is go through the serving line and pick your meal. You can either take it to go or eat it there.
I love Chipotle's food. At my training which I recall to take two years from the time I applied to the time I was able to attend the training, trainees trickled in 30-60 minutes late. The instructor showed up 30 minutes late. We were not offered a meal and when someone brought it up, the instructor (Chipotle District Manager) informed us he knew nothing about a complimentary meal. He informed us we could order and would most likely be reimbursed, LOL. Uuuummmm, we all left. The training was very useful and (the MSC) and Chipotle are spot on to make it a requirement. I would've been lost on my first job had I not attended the training. I love my scheduler. She is AWESOME and I am amazed that she schedules for a large part of the country and is able to keep details in her head. Unbelievable!

Mod note: The name of the MSC removed to bring post in accordance with Forum rules about not linking MSCs with their clientele. It is probably also a condition of your ICA not to name clients.
Thanks rofl! The training is tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it!

Enjoy the training! It was really helpful because they showed exactly what to look for with descriptions and pointing to the actual food. When I took the training, managers from all the local Chipotles came and the MSC rep introduced them and they all said "Welcome, thank you, we want to hear your honest opinions on your reports. Tell us whether we're doing good or not."

It was fun meeting lo0cal mystery shoppers. Some worried that the workers who were there when we did the training would remember us and make us as mystery shoppers but I think they see so many people they really didn't notice us enough to remember. At least, I've never felt like they know I am a shopper.

I'm sorry to hear that Madetoshop's training did not include the meal. That was an important part of the training, because all the shopper/trainees got the meal and we all ate together, discussing the training. As we talked, we thought up more questions to ask the trainer and the manager so it was great.
Honestly, my training was worthless. The trainer was obviously new, and all he did was read word-for-word the entire packet we were given (and in a quiet monotone). When he was asked questions by us, he'd either shrug his shoulder or reply "I think so." I'm not sure where they found my trainer, but my cat could have done a better job. At least I got paid for it, plus a free meal.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm looking forward to meeting other shoppers in this area also.

I hope we have a good trainer. Two hours is a long time to be board and stuck.

At my training early this year, I had the impression that one trainer does a bunch of sessions throughout a region (western states, for example.) If you get him, it will be fine. The point of the meal is to give you a chance to put the lesson into action. You can stare at the food pans without anyone asking what you are doing. You can ask the crew about servings etc. Our training session also had local managers in attendance. They were able to answer general questions, too. No one says you have to become an evaluator for the MSC. You can always just take the free meal and say, "No, thanks." I was given one assignment the first month. It allowed the MSC to see if I could handle it, and I could see if I wanted to do any more. The only limit on assignments I have experienced are those by the schedulers. At the first of the month, they send out assignments based on a list of locations you agree to shop. I have 15. I live in a saturated FF/QSR area. No, I have never received 15 assignments!

Shopping SoCal and Maui.
I had my training today!

There were three shoppers, including me, the trainer, and a lot of Area Managers from Chipotle.

The training was outstanding. The Managers' input was very useful. Tracey was a great trainer.

Halfway through, the shoppers ordered lunch and were served by the Managers. I ordered the chorizo bowl with brown rice, fajitas and corn salsa. I brought 2/3s of it home and I will eat it tomorrow for dinner. The chips disappeared somehow.

I submitted my direct deposit form and should receive my log in info shortly.

You will not get training pay until you complete an actual shop FYI. And future warning READ notes super careful. I mean careful. Wording is essential to them. "How spicy...." is NOT the same as "Is it spicy..."
Yes, I know about the paid training. Someone mentioned it here, and the trainer told us.

What do you mean: "How spicy...." is NOT the same as "Is it spicy..." They aren't the same.

It's related to this month's knowledge question. They want the question worded exactly as directed to see how the crew member responds.
Pay EXACT super EXACT attention to the wording.

I created my log in information today. How do you request a shop to sign up for?

I see the available locations. I can check a box, but then what? Do I leave a comment in the next field?

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
You go through and check the boxes for the locations that you are willing to shop. Leave a comment if you are only willing to do a location on weekends or at lunch or something specific. Otherwise, you just check the box. On the first day of each month, the scheduler auto-assigns you locations, based on your selected locations. Then you can choose to accept or decline each of the assignments. You can also check the list of "orphans" and see if there are any in your area that you are willing to do and you can request them.
Thank you again! I forgot that they weren't self assign.

The scheduler for this area sent me a very detailed email with instructions for everything.

Please do not PM me for the name of the MSC. It is a violation of forum rules.

They have never offered fajitas to me. Lately the pan has always been almost empty.
