Chipotle Shops

Thanks for starting this topic.

I am on quite often and hardly post unless I have a question.

Anyway...

I had been reading about this shop but will adit was hesitant to tXke it because they were in the news about some of their ingredients being contaminated.

A year later...

They advertised needing new shoppers on FB. The post also said to put that so and so referred you. I went in and applied. The next day, I got an email from a different person who offered to sign me up for the training this week.

I will post my experience. I've been doing this shopping business too long and if it's too difficult I won't be doing it for long.

Yes, I mean the schedulers.
The shop is easy and the pay is decent. I found the training very useful since they (the MSC and employees) tell you exactly what they are looking for in your reports.

I always get a salad, with chicken or sofritas depending on what I'm feeling like. Pass on the rice and salad dressing, ask for black and pinto beans and either sour cream OR cheese. If I can keep more than a taste of chips out of my mouth it's not too unhealthy.

KathyG, other than the lettuce, how does the salad differ from the bowl?

I always get the salad, too. This month the lettuce is either hot or the rest of the ingredients are cold. It is a real challenge to the restaurant to get it right this month. Yes, the primary difference is that the meal is built on a bed of lettuce. You can still get rice and beans (I don't, but my husband gets beans.) It comes with a tablespoon or two of dressing in a separate container.

I am off to get my fifth salad of the month. I wonder which will be hot? The lettuce or the protein? :-)

Oops, cross posted!

Honny, that is the difference. A rice base is a bowl. A lettuce base is a salad. Other than that, the toppings choices are all the same down the line. And, the salad has a house dressing, but I never get it...some kind of mutant Italian stuff, imho.

Pua and LG, thank you for the info!

LG, I like the Mutant Italian dressing lol. It sounds like it will go great with Breakfast Wine.

I'm doing my last January shop tomorrow. As usual, I have tacos on my mind, so that's what I'm getting.

I rarely see anyone ordering the tacos in my market. Last week I saw an order of them for the first time in at least a year. How are they? The only reason I noticed was cause I was sitting and eating and watching the server scoop and rescoop which is not allowed but I finally saw they were tacos. I get the salad every time. It is the exact same as the bowl but with lettuce too. My salad has a base of lettuce with a "bowl" on top of it...all the same ingredients but more.
Tip for new shoppers...if you order guacamole on an online job which is packed to go it is a good idea to ask for a topping of lettuce otherwise half your guac gets stuck to the top of the container. The lettuce on top protects it.

I get the tacos when I am not hungry but need to get the shop out of the way. The sauce/salsa makes the last taco a mushy mess in the container. It absorbs the runoff from the other tacos. Getting the salsa, including the fresh tomato, on the side helps and getting protein and lettuce only helps, too. I choose the crunchy taco shell. The tacos are not worth the price of the meal since it is not possible to put a selection of ingredients in it - no room. Chipotle sells a lot of salads and bowls in my area.

I'm loving these tips! Since I spread my meal over three days, tacos are out for now.

The shop I did Monday was released with no feedback. I incorporated the feedback from the first shop, and the report wasn't ripped to shreds by the editor. I must say, I like this MSC!

You can order soft tacos which are made with flour or corn tortillas. You will get more ingredients and it won't be a mushy mess. I still prefer to get a bowl or salad with small soft tortillas on the side, either corn or flour. I then make my own soft tacos. I add some crumbled chips in them to make them crunchy.

There is an orphan in my area. Can it be done after the cut off date?

Email your scheduler. They may make an exception if the location has not been shopped for a while. When in doubt of anything always email your scheduler. They are great and respond very quickly.
Thanks G. My scheduler is Deanna, and she is awesome.

She is mine, too. Expect a fast response. She is also prompt in answering questions specific to the KQ. BTW, I was assigned a late shop to do this past weekend (not an orphan. Someone must have flaked out on her.) No bonus though even though the assignment came in after the deadline. Fortunately, I had the time to do the shop.

I guess they decided not to do the traing in my area sad smiley I emailed the scheduler a couple of weeks ago about the update and she never repy back.

Guess I have to wait till next time
Deanna is my scheduler too. Once upon a time, she was an editor too. I'm guessing she was tearing her hair out.

Edited for typo.

Thanks Pua. I didn't have time to do the shop, so I ended up not contacting her.

The shop assignments have been posted. I got 4 for this month. One of my shops will be a rofl taco.

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
If you buy two tacos and load them up you get just as much food for less money than the burrito which is mostly rice. The amount of chicken or meat served on two tacos is the same as the burrito.
I have the free chips with guac from the promotion so I'll be using that on my shop. I'll try the taco this month.

A heads up regarding the suggestion that you order salsa on the side to avoid a mushy mess: I once ordered the hot salsa on the side so that I could just pour a little into my bowl. The cashier charged me for "chips and salsa." She said anytime you order salsa on the side and you order chips, they have to charge you extra.

I always order it on the side and have never had push-back or a charge. It is something to be aware of though. I can understand why the cashier would do that. It does seem like a work-around to avoid paying for salsa. That's not my intent, but I can understand why the cashier would say that. I will remember that should I run into another to-go shop.

That's the rofl taco! That's what he recommended a few pages ago with one flour shell.

I noticed that this month's shopping window has been expanded to 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. That works great for me. I am trying the ROFL taco(s) on my first shop today. I have eight shops assigned for February. As much as I like Chipotle, I can't handle that much food.

I can see me on my next visit saying - "I'll have a ROFL taco please".
EIGHT shops?! Wow, I had trouble scheduling four.
