Many thanks
NOPE, just asked a general question about if it is shopped or not, said nothing about the msc.
Just had carrot juice with my lunch, not kidding !!!!
I hopped past one yesterday.

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.

Canadamommy,
Once again, just asking if a client is shopped at all is not an imposition! It is a question that most of us have at times and does NOT constitute a violation or an invitation to violate forum rules or ICAs.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Note his track record. He does it often.

Hoping someone will give a clue.

If you really want to know call them up and ask them! Do your homework.

I receive MSC emails, and see messages on many of their websites, asking for referrals. Some even run referral contests. So, it the forum rules do not allow public disclosure, so be it. I prefer the opportunity to get a referral bonus though.

You can PM the poster and, WITHOUT naming the MSC, offer to refer them if they will provide their full contact information. BUT, no naming the MSC, in public or in private. Folks will find out and you will lose your credibility with schedulers and project managers.

Nicely stated walesmaven!

So why ask if so and so is shopped? What will you do differently with a yes or a no? You are hoping someone gives you a hidden clue. Well they did. Did you find it? Congrats your strategy worked.

I agree that there is no point to asking that, unless you beieve you will be contacted by someone who will tell you or that someone will post something that spills the beans. But if he words it the way he has worded it, it is not asking blatantly for a violation like "who shops ....?" I've noticed the posts of posters who ask for ICA violations and even those who ask for hints are getting a thumbsdown from other posters. A bunch of those posts have disappeared. So, CANADAMOMMY, if you have a thumb and you don't like it when posters ask those questions, use your thumb instead of arguing. Or report the post to a moderator who can decide.

Waesmaven's idea of offering to refer them to the MSC is a good one. I have made that offer twice. Both times the poster declined. In both cases, the posters did not want to provide contact information to me, argued that it was important for them to remain anonymous but that it was mean and selfish of me not to tell them now that I had said I knew, and that the logical thing was for me to just break my ICA and tell them so we could both stay anonymous. I didn't tell them. Maybe someone else did.
I wrote a letter to this client asking them to refer me to their msc, but would not have wasted my time doing so if I knew they were not shopped. That is all I asked in the original posting....plain and simple.
I knew the CFO of QDoba through a job I had last year outside the mystery shopping world. At that time, he mentioned they were not doing as well as he had hoped. I mentioned mystery shopping to him. As far as he knew at that time, they did not not utilize it at any of their locations, but he wanted to look into it. I no longer work that job, so I don't know the outcome.
It's not clear to me why the OP's messages are disappearing. He didn't ask anyone to break their ICA or drop any hints. He asked a simple question that could be answered with Yes or No. As he later said, he was doing research and then decided to ask if anyone knew if the client is or isn't shopped. If they aren't shopped, then he can stop his research. Where's the rub?
It sounds to me like the whole thread is a done deal anyway. The OP wrote in his last post that he has written to the client to ask if they are shopped and by which company. I haven't really seen any yes or no answers in the thread, so writing the client is probably the OP's best bet.
But it sounds like he wrote the client before asking in here as he stated he would not have wasted his time if he knew that they were not shopped. Which isn't really a waste of time, because perhaps it will make the client think about getting shopped in the future. I've eaten there and I wasn't crazy about it anyway.
I read it slightly differently. I interpreted his last post to mean he posted asking if the client was shopped because he didn't want to waste his time writing the client unless someone told him the client was shopped. Since I did not see a definite yes or no here in the thread, I assumed that either someone PM'd him that the client was shopped, or, when he didn't get a yes or no answer, he decided to go ahead and write the client. Who knows.
