When you agree to do a shop and then it is not assigned

I agreed to do a Movie shop that is 45 minutes away. Scheduler was desperate and offered a bonus. I told her through in gas money and I'll get it done, no problem. Her reply, "Will $15 do it?" I agreed to do it. This was to be done yesterday and a movie I wanted to see was playing. So come the day of shop, I am not getting a reply or seeing it in my job board. I'm emailing her and she is responding vague responses like, "Oh, let me check for you." Fast forward, today, I get an email, "My shopper flaked, and I am sooo desperate to get this done, I'll give you an extra bonus." I checked to see what was playing. My movies not playing and nothing good is showing. Well, sorry, cant do it. Should have picked the reliable shopper lady. Bye, Bye.

Wow. GOOD for you!

I'd prefer the, "I'm really busy spending time with my family, with New Years Eve and with all the drunk drivers, I'd need at least $100 bonus to do it," route.

I offered to do a route of shops a few months ago for a scheduler for $15 per location ($5 bonus up from $10) and was declined. Now he's paying me double that for a very big route because he couldn't get it filled.

Edit: A 2 day $1500 route :-)

While I have them on the phone, I insist they send me something in writing to confirm, with the bonus in it. That way I have it in writing . It works well. I've spent too much time in situations like this one, or chasing down a bonus promised verbally.

I agreed to do a $50 last minute grocery shop at a very out of the way location for Trendsource. The scheduler told me I would be assigned ON SATURDAY (which the original email stated was the one day for the bonus). Then she comes back on the email a couple of days before I am to do the shop and says, "Oh no the fifty dollars was for ONLY FOR Saturday, I assigned it to somebody else, maybe you can do it another day." My question was, why did she assign it to someone else after I confirmed I would do it? My email states that I clearly confirmed the date and was ready to go. I called her on this in a polite way, and never got a response. If they think I'm driving 70 miles for a $14 shop, forget it!

YES!!! They have done this to me a couple times now too! They call, we agree to a time and price and then they pull it at the last minute. I shop in (supposedly) a hard to fill area and I'm about to just give up on them completely. It's so completely unprofessional!
