Cancelling Shops

I found out this week that I start my new 9-5 on Monday. I had to cancel most of my shops this week. I thought the "flake citations" would hit, but the schedulers were very understanding. Some of my shops were posted with a lower fee or no bonus, and others were posted with a bonus.

Congrats on the new job! It's great that they were understanding. But I personally, if i were a scheduler would rather keep you happy and in good standing for possible future shopping then burn that bridge.

Thank you Coffee and tc! I'm a contract engineer (very specialized) and I've been out of work for almost a year. I've been MSing successfully in the mean time. It paid my bills and then some. I felt bad about canceling, but this is a dream job.

Congrats and glad you're able to find work again!

But when it comes to cancelling, it's always up to the MSC whether to follow their policies line by line or use their discretion on a case by case basis, just like how it is in other fields of business. These companies didn't see you as a threat that hurt their projects and / or they don't see any red flags from you cancelling, hence, no punishment for you for cancelling.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
