What job boards do you use?

I use jobslinger, but it quit working for me (no matter which state I type in, the results come back "there are no jobs"...). I've been on other job boards, but don't recall their names and/or how to get to them.

What job boards do you use?

Thanks.

(I think it's a problem with my computer, because SASSIE is affected; every company on SASSIE, I'm having this problem with!)

I pretty much don't use job boards. I just go to various MSC websites and look for jobs, if I didn't already get an email about them.
Well, I like the job boards. They tell me which companies have jobs in my state, so that I can sign up with those companies! But most companies who have shops within driving distance seem to only have one shop every 6 months, so I'm constantly looking for new companies!
I don't think that there is anything wrong with you using job boards if it helps you get more shops. A long time ago I used to use the MSPA job board that peg suggested. And I do use iSecretShop occasionally but I don't really consider that a job board as much as it is a reporting platform, though I guess it is an odd combination of both. Gigspot I stay away from mostly just because of the complaints I have read in this forum about it.
I have a few job boards that I peruse at the times of the month when I know that hard to catch jobs will be posted, but otherwise either the offers come in by email or are for ongoing projects where I get an email asking how many of client A's shops I want to do in the following month. I also email video schedulers when I want something to see what they might have of interest. Video is a whole different would when it comes to scheduler-shopper relations, at least where the realty good video MSCs are concerned.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
What Wales said. There are video companies who post a fraction of their actual work on job boards. In that world you email the schedulers, let them know where you're going, and ask what they can give you.

For regular shops though, I make it my business to know who every company I'm signed up with shops. When planning routes I might log on to individual boards to see if a particular location is available, but that's usually filler. Most of my routes are made up of shops I have scheduled long before they would hit the board.

Guess I mistitled the thread. I should have just asked for the names of the various job boards.

Isn't MSPA and Jobslinger the same thing? I can't get gigspot to work -- every time I try to log in, I just get a screen that says it's not functioning. Thanks for the isecretshop; that's one of the ones I couldn't remember the name of, and now I've written it down, LOL!!!!

I do have several msc websites I check daily -- but I don't have time to fiddle around with the clunky ones where you have to go through 6-12 steps just to see if they have any jobs within 200 miles.
I check ISS, Presto, Gigspot, Maritz and Marketforce first. If I still have room for shops after that I start checking individual company sites.
A large percentage of my shops I get via schedulers calling me and asking me to do them. I check boards during slow periods or for fillers.
I really like Presto Maps. I wish all MSC's would post their jobs on Presto. Sigh..... It is SO CONVENIENT to see a map of where various jobs are located. I am able to schedule several jobs in the same general area. It makes my life easier. 95% of the time I still visit the job boards of individual companies. It is very time consuming.
I use the boards listed above, plus Field Agent, GigWalk, EasyShift and GoSpotCheck. I also use Mobee occasionally but with it, you earn points that you can redeem for gift cards. I personally prefer just getting paid. Lol

Build up good relationships with schedulers and the MSCs, let them know what you are interested in and often they contact favorite reliable shoppers before putting the remainder on the job board.

What is the link for the MSPA job board? I am a certified member of MSPA but when I login I don't see a link to a job board. I can search for companies but that doesn't show me available jobs. Am I missing something?
Isn't Presto Maps just an extension of Jobslinger?

FWIW, only a fraction of actual jobs are listed on the job boards. Many clients prefer their information not be available via public postings. This is why it is consistently recommended here to sign up with as many companies as you can manage.

Without the job boards I would have not had the confidence to start doing this and I relied on them to identify companies to start with. I still use them to identify new opportunities as I hesitate to sign up with dozens of companies that might not offer anything in my area or that I am interested in.

After I cancelled my Gigspot account, I found that I still wasn't seeing all the available jobs. I solved most of the issues by creating a new account with another email address that is not attached to any other MSCs. Unfortunately, this means that I am outside the normal rotation parameters, so I have to keep track of which ones limit for myself. Not a big deal, and the only downside I can tell.
