What are your mystery shopping goals for 2017?

I love to travel so I'd love to hear more about how your travel writing career evolved. I'm just back from Cuba and there are definitely great stories to be told.

Goals at my age...my big goal was seeing my daughter get into a good college...it not only happened, she has a great career and is totally independent. M'S'ng, no goals, just continue as long as I can. Not planning works best for me, letting life happen and try and enjoy each day, have an interesting date now and then with a very handsome intelligent man...looks like it's happening (what do you know)....

Live consciously....

My 2017 Mystery Shopping goals are 1) Become a certified video mystery shopper 2) Shop 90% videos and 10% $25+ written shops 3) Become a scheduler and editor 4) Top my 2016 earnings of $11,000.
I have no goals. I do realize I am stressing a lot less lately. I will continue to do jobs that interest me and provide a perk that I enjoy or want to enhance my lifestyle as well as my family's.

I am trying to get the nerves to start up again, it's been awhile since my last shop! 2008. I am 65 now and don't want the long uploads and other stuff. Maybe, two shops a week.

Technology has come a long way since 2008. It should be much easier for you now. Of course there will always be glitches but it's so much better than it used to be. I remember submitting reports in 2002 on dial up...ugh.
What feedback do you have that getting certified will help you make more money or get more fulfilling assignments?
Good Lord! Please share your experience so we don't take assignments like the bum ones you had. I have had infrequent bad experiences. I am not crazy about waiting almost 2 months for my money with some companies, but they do pay.

I will no longer work for CIRRUS at all (slow pay and no pay for IKEA shops and additional invoicing requirements), GFK's inventory/audits, and I am very cautious about BARE because I got burned on a hotel bar audit. However they treated me very decently on a recent assignment in which I was quite late due to unforeseen circumstances, so BARE is back on my okay list.
My goal is to find assignments that pay more than $7.00. I am a new shopper and the shops I'm assigned all pay less than $10.00 . What am I doing wrong??

There is no right or wrong answer... grinning smiley There are only a few considerations...

Where do you live? How far can you travel for this work? Can you handle waiting for reimbursements or must you have only shops that do not involve a purchase? How many companies are you registered with, and how often do you check MSC job boards, volition, prestomap, etc.?

Often, shops sit on boards awhile and bonuses are added as a month progresses. Sometimes, the bonuses make the shops seem downright attractive. Can you afford to wait for some of your shops to be bonused?
