Texas Roadhouse

On Veterans Day they did a stand up and outstanding job of providing free meals to Veterans and their families. It was the first time I ever dined at one of their restaurants. I work a few miles from the location I visited.

Last week I performed a reimbursement only at the bar shop at the same location. The report is as simple as I have seen. No timings, simple narratives, no additional chronological narrative required. The few required observations were easy to remember. Out of habit I retained details that were not needed.

My report was received and graded in less than 24 hours, accepted as submitted, score of 10.

I'd gladly perform this shop again versus the many $8 to $12 fee based Wireless or Bank shops that take longer and require significantly more details.

I have done the Texas Roadhouse shops for several months now. With the quality of food, the reimbursement only still makes this one of the shops I would go out of my way to do. There is no timing and the hospitality of the staff is outstanding. Catch a few names and enjoy the meal.

Shopping Southern Georgia, Valdosta, Waycross, Quitman, Thomasville and North Central Florida I-10 & I-75.
I do these all the time. I prefer the non-bar as I believe the reimbursement is higher. We do go over the amount, but the report is quick, so it is worth it to me. I wish the rotation period was shorter, although, they have waived in the past.
Hmmm, wish I knew which MSC has them as a client. I've got some research to do! Sounds great...I love Texas Roadhouse!
I did a Texas Road House bar dinner on December 22nd. Because a lot of mystery shoppers were taking time off to spend with family and get ready for Christmas, the location near me just sat and sat on the job board. I watched the bonus crawl up until it hit $10 then I accepted it. I took my next door neighbor out to dinner and threw the bonus money in with the food reimbursement, because the standard reimbursement for this shop is not enough for 2 full dinners, appetizers maybe.

We had a great dinner. The food was fabulous (he had beef tips and I had beef kebab), my neighbor paid the tip and he drove, so I basically bought our dinners for $0.10 by doing an easy report. The portions are large so we each took home half our dinner. My neighbor said it was the best Christmas gift he'd ever received! And he really liked watching the servers doing line dancing.

I wonder if the regular dinner (not belly-up-to-the-bar) is just as easy a report? The food reimbursement on that one is higher than the bar dinner, and usually more money means more work.
They have added some of the sister restaurants too. I prefer Tx Roadhouse - the other two we have here don't have the bread! But the value is really there as the portions are huge! Great company, great shop! If only the rotations weren't 90 days!

I too love these shops. I like that I can dine alone at the bar with a simple report. The food is some of the best anywhere. I often dine there on my own dime if I am out of rotation or there is no shop available. They should raise the reimbursement some thou as the prices have gone up some and its hard to stay under $25 at the bar and $35 for two in the dinning room. I order soda too so no expensive beer.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I seriously need to give these shops a try.

FWIW you might be better of holding off til later in the month to accept a shop. They usually start adding bonuses around the 3 week or so.

I like the bar shop and I do it alone. Easier report and pretty good meal.
Belly up to the bar! Love the food. smiling smiley
I've always liked these shops. It seems like easy reports and the food is great. But I moved and we have no Texas Roadhouses. Boo!!!!
Does anyone know if they are still doing the dining room (non-bar) shops? I haven't seen any on the boards for a number of months now. They are also easy, pleasant, and delicious. My husband and i can scrimp by on the reimbursement for the regular dinner shops, but not for the dinner at the bar. But the meals are so good that we don't mind supplementing on our own and consider it a huge savings. Unfortunately, the dinner at the bar shop at our local has been getting snapped up immediately; that never used to happen.

Unfortunately, in my atea, the bonused ones are also the more remote locations.

I did discover that the early bird special would work best for two people with non-alcoholic drinks if you dine at a regular table, then you can stay within reimbursement including tip. If at the bar, you can splurge as an individual.

I did one last year with my wife for the dining room part and we enjoyed it. The ones in my area get picked up very quickly.

I wonder why the d/r part requires two people and the bar requires 1 person ? I would like to do more but with my schedule its hard to do it.

When we did ours we had to be there between 6 and 9 and with the tip we were at 35 dollars

I understand the bar allowing one person, and it primarily evaluates bartenders. Sounds like the dining room version is designed to measure more aspects of what most diners experience. Personally, this location is easier for me to visit by myself, though for a weekend (if allowed) I can better arrange to dine with my wife.

I know we can't discuss the details but will it be strange if I set at the bar and don't drink beer. I always get water when I go to the TRH .

Also is there a lot to remember at the bar
I'm interested in cinnamon butter on the rolls!

Isaiah, thank you for that review of both the restaurant and the shop! I haven't done one, but I always see them. I'll give it a try next month.

bgriff, the cinnamon butter on the rolls are almost as good as bacon.

I only do dining room shops because I can take my whole family. The meal isn't more than $20 out of pocket and everyone leaves full! I think the dining room is for 2 or more people so you don't stand out while it is more common to see single diners at the bar. I am not sure that I've ever seen a solo diner at the tables come to think of it.
