Did my first audit today

And I don't know if I will do another. It was a lot of trouble for the pay, getting the prices of 50 items (exact sizes) in a huge and unfamiliar grocery store and then only getting a total of $14 reimbursement. I was in the store about an hour and spent probably another half hour inputting it. I wouldn't have signed up for this one on my own, but they called me begging me to take it. Anyone do these regularly and/or like them?

I like them fine enough. I usually do 6-10 per round. The key is to do them in stores you know well, IMO. I stay away from ones at stores I don't know.

Do you think they are worth the money, Dee? I assume you have gotten pretty fast at them.
Yea, they are mostly the same items, time after time. So it works out to be fairly fast for me. I like getting groceries, and that is one way I can get more than just the grocery store shops, which are not as plentiful here as many places on the mainland.

I think it takes a special talent to do these. I did one and absolutely HATED it. I was so frustrated I wanted to quit, it took forever, andat a small organic grocery and said "well, it wasn't so bad..." but did a second at a large grocery and now says he will never do them again. But others do them frequently and have little difficulty. I wish I liked them.....it is a good discount on groceries and we're all always going to have to buy those.....
I run from them, counting is not shopping (which I love). I've started my second merchandsing job, and got a little overwhelmed. Linda at Bare is right there for me, and I now have my head rapped around it....have to pull certain water drink off shelves till I have 60, then bring them to headquarters for a taste test, have till the 11th, the trick is finding that many, so, going to many high end stores that carry them, alot of driving and paperwork, but good pay.

Live consciously....
Yeah, so now I got an e-mail that my prices were "out of range", one too low, Fuji apples on sale for 98 cents a pound, and about five others that were too high. It says please go back or call the store to re-check these. For $11 that I have already spent about an hour and a half on? Over my dead body! I wrote back and said the prices are what they are. The Fuji apples were the only kind on sale, and that was their price without any type of membership card; that was their PRICE!
You cannot report sale prices. If you have a sale price only, it must be done in the comments at the end. That will not stop the "out of range" comments. I get those on every price. I want to say, "Hey, has your client shopped in this state?" Some of the questions are stupid, for example, a vegan store that has never carried meat...then I am told someone found it there before. If they did, they were lying. I have lived two blocks from the store for over 10 years, I know they are Vegan.

see how confused I am? I thought if it was sale only you put it at the price if it was the price to everyone and not available only to those with loyalty cards
I have done two of them and found that they take up too much of my time. I also find that not too many folks want to do them since they are always plentiful in my area. Every once in a while they get bonused but even then it is just a few bucks.
Well I just got back from returning to the store with my husband. I said, "Look! What is the price you see for those Fuji apples? 98 cents a pound, wow, that's what I put down. They said it was too low. How about that asparagus? $5.98? Yeah! That's what I said, and they said it was too high. I did find two typos, one I had at 3.39 instead of 3.29, shouldn't make much difference, and a more significant one, 3.98 instead of 5.98. So out of 8 they questioned, 5 were okay. I told them this was my first (and probably last audit) as now I am being reimbursed about $5 an hour.
I bought some on a come on special at $1.99 a week or so ago. It is never season for them here! These were imported from Peru.
I'm doing the same shop today at a grocery store I'm unfamiliar with. I've got 50 items, mostly wines, some cheeses and some beer. It sounds like everyting is in the same department so I hope it's not so bad. I'm taking my 15 year old daughter to help me so I'm praying it won't take forever. This is my first one too so I'll see if they're worth my time....

Are these for TS or for CRI? If the former, I had some lists like that when they were doing a huge project here once, months before the client opened a store. This was a tough list. Not as tough as wellness items in a tiny store, but a tough list, and I know and love wine. I would not gauge the audits by a list like this. The regular grocery mixes are easier and more repetive (thus much easier to find quickly), IMO.

I did one of these for TS and it was the last one. It was a national store and most of the items were organic. My husband and I spent well over an hour trying to find the items and couldn't find all of them. When I went to input my results, I kept getting error messages that the item had been reported before, and I should be able to find them. Well, after spending so much time in the store, we were both frustrated. and we were not going back. I wasn't paid for that job but I don't think I will ever attempt one again unless I know the store inside and out.
Kh 72, I am with you! Never again! 3,000 bottles of wine and find six. Never telling me where they originated from as that is how they were categorized. Not in alphabetical order, either, of course.
