I think it was in the Starwars movie when someone said "Let the Force be with you?" I think it was said by the character Luke Skywalker in that funky Market on his planet.

Any movie buffs know for sure?

The Gapbusters website, when I visited it the other day on a different errand, indicates that their fast food shops have gone to another company. I suspect Rekha is not in the US market.
Depends where you live. In my area it's MSC name deleted .

Which is why we may give hints that can be figured out but not put the names of the client and company together. It IS a violation of the confidentiality agreement.

I think Carol's referencing deekennedy's post. I thought your Star Wars thing was clever.

Actually, giving hints is still a breach of confidentiality. I don't know how this myth started. Giving proprietary information away via riddle is just as prohibited as giving it away directly.

There's many things we do that's a breach of various ICAs. For example, discussing bonuses, shop fees, and reimbursements goes against MFI's ICA.
How do you know I wasn't talking about a movie? I'm apt to talk about darn near anything on this board.

I know I get so tired of the MS police telling us about violations.

I can not remember which portal Luke was trying to enter when he said that, but I think it was the Blue one and not the Purple one. Anyone?
Didn't he meet C3P0 through the purple one? I get the tall robot and the short one mixed up. Which one was R2D2?

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less. If you're going to divulge information, though, at least just flat out say it. Giving "hints" isn't any less of a breach of confidentiality than flat out saying " X MSC has it".

Remember, he's a lawyer, so that explains a lot.

My 2 cents...this should be on another thread...MSC companies...just kidding, I don't care. I hate McD, haven't eaten there in 20 years.

Live consciously....
I'm still puzzled by this particular rule.
Who is it keeping the "secret" from? Probably thousands of shoppers know who shops McDonald's. And other MSP's surely know. So who doesn't know that must not know? What is the whole purpose of keeping who shops what a secret?

If there is a logical explanation, I'd like to hear it, just to set my little mind at rest. Wow! I have a big secret. I know who shops hotels...casinos...fast food joints...

Since just about anyone can sign up with the MSP's and then browse their job boards, what's the secret? I'd like a statistic on how many schedulers are signed up with how many companies...I bet it's a lot. I know if I made some part of a living doing scheduling I'd want to know who has what jobs.

Yeah, bring it on. Give me a good reason for this nonsense.
The rationale is that if Company A shops McDonalds for $X and we're out broadcasting. Then company B could come in and talk to Mc Donalds and say hey, our company can do if for less. And then that is when you see the fees dwindle away from us, the shopper.

^^

There's that, then the integrity issue. Sure, shoppers in "the loop" know who has what, but what about the people being shopped?

What if you're a McD employee who want's a bonus (they get $100 for 100%)? What's to stop you from googling around, finding out which company shops you, sign up for it, and have a friend shop you?

These forums get indexed by Google, so if an unscrupulous McD employee were to search around, they could figure up who to sign up with. Or, they could find these forums and just ask. Without this info being publicly available, it's a little more intimidating to the employee, seeing as they would have to register for hundreds of companies and do alot of work before finding it out.

But like I said, I personally don't care. I've given several people info via PM (mainly shoppers who are established around here). Giving "hints", though, is just silly.

One of the companies that offered Mickey's does not do it anymore. The blue port hole took the shops. I value my tummy too much to assault it with a Mickey D.
Probably not the right group to canvass if you are looking for "people who eat free." Shopping evaluators don't eat free, they work for their money. Any payment and/or reimbursement is payment for visiting a location, making observations, evaluating the food, service, and facility, and writing a report. In many cases, the report is lengthy and requires the use of good grammar and writing skills.

Also - although I'm not sure why a mystery shopper would want to appear in something that blows their cover - no payment is mentioned for appearing in this production. Would this be "people who work for free?"
I suppose it is no longer an ICA issue for me to mention MSC and Ronnie's in the same post. They gave me the boot a couple weeks ago with the standard "thanks for shopping now you can not reapply even if we get shops in your area" form letter. The ICA no longer applies because they terminated.

Every time I take a McDonald's shop, I swear to myself I won't take another one. But sooner or later, I do them again.

If it didn't require the drive-thru and dine-in, I would do them all the time. I just think the scenario is preposterous.

The shop went to MSC A & MSC B , but they pay out a couple dollars less then MSC C.

Never in the 3 years I have shopped for them.
I still shop McDonalds as does Ron. We make about $150 a month or more by taking some of the boonie shops. And just think of all that wonderful heart healthy (harumph) food we get to partake of! Starting to think I'm feeding my grandkids a heart attack on a paper plate.

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!
Kathleen - Re your Q about payment at ICCDS - I had a problem with delayed payment on several shops. I made an inquiry and was told they didn't have the invoices, so I resubmitted them and was paid. In the process, I learned they have a place on their website where you can check your shops to see if they are showing the invoices received. This information may be of some help to you.
