You mean those lovely shops where you are told you have to spend a minimum of $100? Or do you mean the ones where they want you to do a purchase and return of $700? They'er boosting their bottom line at our expense.

Yes, and when they don't process the return until Jan 2009 it makes their financials all that less horrid for 2008.

Alas, 2873399 has left, but we have her phone number. And so does the rest of the world.

Last fall, I did a whole string of them for one company. They were inquiries, only. The result was that the companies I shopped continued for quite a while to crowd my incoming email and several reps called me even weeks later. I had to wade through the email to click on the not-interested button. Then I had to tell the callers that I finally made a decision that did not include them. For the first month, it was quite a bit of work. I haven't seen any more of these assignments, but I was so busy merchandising for a few months that I could hardly come up for air. Several of my merchandising assignments took a lot longer than the paperwork said. There was one that took 13 hours but was supposed to take six. Payroll even called to see if I did all of that in one day. I said no, but I didn't say, since this is my best merchandising company, that I have another job. I was going in all day on Saturdays just to catch up and it hurt my 100% performance of meeting deadlines at two stores. I hope they don't see that when they consider my annual raise.
