I miss staying on the coast in Cornwall or Wales or Maine! Spent 2 days during a force 8 gale in North Wales, with the sea spray hitting the hotel windows. Heaven!

True. I love the photography of a still reflection of mountains and a blue sky. I equate big waves with danger. I love the peaceful sound of a trickle and the splash of a frog.

So sorry. I screwed up again and forgot to add a question after my post yesterday. Thanks, Spork, for picking up the ball after I dropped it. I'll do it properly now. I did prefer the Brady Bunch, but it wasn't much of a choice. They were both pretty corny.

False! I wouldn't want to be a kid today at all. So much of what was great about my childhood is gone, including the great city where I grew up. (Detroit) I look back on our innocence with fondness. I know now how much really awful stuff there is in the world and think that it would be sad to grow up a cynic with that knowledge. I love that I was always an optimist. However, I do wish I knew more about finances (stock market etc.) and how little it matters what others think.

True - Love tradition and make the same recipes, I started making homemade cranberry relish, will never buy the canned version again. Oh, the pumpkin pie!

True, both lunch and brunch and I have no idea why. Even though it's been answered, I love Halloween and trick-or-treaters. Several years ago we on the cul-de-sac came up with the clever idea of having a street party so instead of answering the door every few minutes there was a large table with all the candy bowls lined up. Naturally the adults were behind the table next to a roaring fire sipping wine

True. I have avoided my family like the plague during the holidays ever since I first left home at 24. (I'm 32 now).
I like them well enough, but don't like them during the holidays. I also don't like the holidays, with the exception of Imbolc, which is in early Febuary.

The next poster knows where the holiday of Imbolc came from. ;-)
