Favorite Old Threads

I got the magic call today and accepted my first Sonic's shop. As I was printing out the paperwork, I was reminded of one of my very favorite threads.

Does anyone else have a fave?

Arguing with fools is like playing chess with a pigeon...
...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Not scheduling for ANY company.
I knew I could count on you, IMT!! lol

I have a pair of jeans which are irreplaceable. They aren't made anymore and I can't find anything comparible. They have been patched so many times anyone seeing me would think I lived out of a shopping cart or carrier bag. Definitely my set of favourite threads
I have a Woolrich shirt from the 1990s, can't part with it. Also have a denim jacket with the cuff chewed off one sleeve, it's my fave.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
I have a favourite housedress which is probably older than my son. My late husband used to tease me and warned me that my mom may take me back if she saw me wearing that attire because that may mean he could not afford to support me. lol
I have a Hang Ten outfit from the 70s! I keep thinking that I should put it on eBay or something.

I'm "Sandi" in the Middle!
This thread has been totally derailed from the original post, but it is quite fun reminiscing about the old clothes.
Anybody still have clogs or Earth Shoes?
I never did have Earth Shoes and the closest I came to clogs was Dr. Scholl sandals. I did, however, have a hard time getting rid of my "C.F.M." platform sandals!

I'm "Sandi" in the Middle!
I don't have any favorite clothes. I refuse to get attached to them because I am slowly but surely going to lose 100 pounds (already down 15) and I will ditch all my clothes for smaller sizes. So, watch out!
My favorite pair of jeans have developed a rip in the crotch :/

I know everyone wants to see what color underwear I'm wearing but I just don't feel comfortable wearing them anymore.

There are reasons that a body stays in motion
At the moment only demons come to mind
Dad went around wearing his pants with the rip-out in the back for a few days. He kept forgetting which ones they were in his room. He was saving them to wrap around the outdoor faucets over the winter ~ he keeps a 'rag bag' for doing things like that. But he kept accidentally putting them on. He came back from Wal-Mart one day and I noticed he had them on... I told him to go change but he didn't care since he was just going out to work in the yard after that anyway. I took them out of his room overnight when he slept. smiling smiley

And about losing weight... Dad lost a significant amount of weight a few years back. And his pants kept falling off. You know, like on 'America's Funniest Videos'? I had never seen that actually happen in real life until Dad.

The funniest time? He was taking out some garbage... we re-use brown paper grocery bags for this purpose, and it took both hands to hold the bag... he was walking along towards the back door when his pants fell down. My current six-year-old dogs were just baby puppies ~ five of them, about five or six weeks old... they had been following 'Grampa' with much curiosity... and they all got in his pants when they fell down. Dad put the trash bag down to get puppies out of his pants and get his pants back up/on... the puppies all got out of his pants, all right... but started 'attacking' and tipping over the trash bag. Dad got his pants back up and then started getting puppies out of the trash, standing the bag back up, putting all the trash back in it, and picking it up again. Then he took a couple more steps... and his pants fell down again... and the puppies all got back in his pants.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Where was I during all of this? About having a stroke and sucking on my asthma inhaler from laughing so hard. I could hardly see through the tears. But at this point I finally managed to get over there and help out. Even with two of us it was difficult to keep five little puppies all in one place long enough to do any good. smiling smiley

He also had his pants fall off while mowing the lawn (thank GOD not the front lawn) and in the parking lot at the grocery store while unlocking the car with one hand and holding one of those plastic grocery bags with the other. He said they almost did *in* the store a couple of times but he was able to catch them. Once while getting out of the car at church. He finally got suspenders, a new belt; and eventually new pants. smiling smiley

Not *exactly* related, but kinda since it's Dad being Dad. Several years ago we got one of those yard swings ~ a really nice sturdy one since we're fairly sturdy people. Dad made a special area for it in the yard, outlined with those cute scalloped landscaping bricks; and got some barkdust-type stuff to put underneath. The bags said they were "large nuggets". After he got it all set up, I was coming outside when he hollered over, "Hey, come check out my large nuggets!" I about fell over laughing, and told him NOT to say that to the older lady who lived next door and often came to talk with him at the fence. smiling smiley

LOL!! Your story reminds of recently when my Dad was painting some trim on a ladder on the side of the house. He had also lost some weight, and down came the pants! His tighty whities went on display! My caring compassionate Mom wished she had the camera at the ready. smiling smiley

I won't have that problem with pants since I wear dresses, but I have had to do a shop yanking up my loose undergarment several times.
I wear jeans almost all the time, exept when I go for running or to sleep. Some companies making very good quality pants. But some ...few times wearing and you can see a hole in middle part...lol

Have you tried those "pajama jeans"? Then you could even wear them when you sleep! smiling smiley
This briefly came up in some thread somewhere... and it was kinda fun: [www.mysteryshopforum.com]

You are so right, Mert!

I had no idea Flash was so hilarious. She and "sneakers" were a perfect comedy duo! Flash, what happened to "sneakers"? She suddenly stopped posting in 2009.

I don't know how to quantify this, but, Mert, this is a perfect example of the "fun factor" that we're missing on today's forum. We're close, but still a long way off.

stilllearning, we've had some laughs with the X thread, which is about nothing. Maybe some creative members looking to have fun, will resurrect the business card threadsmiling smiley

OMG! I was choking while reading this! Hysterical! I pictured this whole scene in black and white like
a Charlie Chaplin movie. I hope we can meet one day! With dad, of course.
