Posting this in case anyone doesn't know about it and is interested.
SavingStar is a digital savings program. It's kind of like using coupons, except it provides a cash rebate after purchasing. To use SavingStar, you create a free account, link all of your store loyalty cards, and activate offers that interest you. $1 off a box of General Mills cereal, $1.50 off three boxes of Hamburger Helper, etc. If you purchase the item during the month you activated the offer, you get paid. It tracks automatically on your store loyalty cards. Most grocery stores are included in the program, as are the major drugstores. When you reach a minumum of $5, you can cash out to Paypal.
I like to use this when I do drugstore or grocery shops that require purchase, and choose an item/items on the offer list for my purchase. This way, I am reimbursed through the MSC, and also receive a cash rebate from the manufacturer. You do not need a smartphone to use SavingStar, but they do have an app. At .50 to $2 per item, it is not much, but it does add up and doesn't require any work. I typically cash out about $20 a month through SavingStar. The best part is that you can use coupons while purchasing, and still receive the cash rebate. Essentially double the savings.
There is also iBotta. Similar to SavingStar, but it is app only, and requires a smartphone. You will also need to scan your receipt through the app. Ibotta works at most grocery stores, drugstores, and the big box stores.
Similar to iBotta is Checkout 51. It works at any store, but you must have a minimum of $20 to cash out, and cash out is done by check. I cash out maybe twice a year, but they have many of the same offers as iBotta and SavingStar, so you canredeem in all three.
