Who's ready for a blizzard?

And I'm not talking about the kind you get from Dairy Queen winking smiley My local station is forecasting 24 inches for my area!

Once is a lifetime is enough for me, thankyouverymuch.

I survived the blizzard of '78 in Toledo but never bought the t-shirt. I wish I had; it would be quite the conversation piece now.

I saw the weather up there on the news. This is terrible and with high winds? What a mess it's going to be. sad smiley
Not technically in the "blizzard zone", so probably only 20-40 mph winds Canuck. Already told my boss I'm not coming to work, so not worried about driving anywhere. As long as the power doesn't go out, I don't mind the snow smiling smiley
It's 73F I hate to tell you. But, next week it will be colder. Up and down. Up and down. Crazy weather in west Texas.
Awww. Poor you. It's about 5° where I am and snowing. *sticks tongue out*

Gotta love that warm weather in South Texas. I have a bank shop scheduled on South Padre Island on Wednesday, then its off to the beach for the rest of the afternoon! Gotta take advantage of the warm weather when we get it!
Ugh, I absolutely hate cold and snow. I had my sunroof open today, and it's supposed to get up to 77 degrees Weds. WOOHOO!!!
I am prepared as I can be. I live in an apt so a generator isn't an optionsad smiley I have water for flushing toilets (on a well), water for drinking, and a power pack to charge phones, laptops, and a light. I have a semi safe heat source as well, a small propane heater we will use during waking hours with a window slightly open nearby. It totally sucked auditing gas stations today though. Took forever to get pics of pumps with people filling their vehicles and several gas cans for their generators. I just submitted the last report so off to shower while I can and go relax while it's comfortable. Stay safe and warm my fellow North Easterners.
Until we get our generator, we stock up on the usual stuff including oil lamps which I especially love. I recently picked up a couple of short strands of battery-operated Christmas tree lights. I thought I'd use them for lighting a pathway to the bathroom but haven't needed them yet.

LJ, that is a brilliant idea. I will have to remember to get some next holiday season. Hang them around the door frames and you're all set smiling smiley Snow has really picked up here in southern NH. Luckily, it is light and fluffy. As long as the winds aren't horrendous later, we should be okay power wise. We are up to a foot already where I live.
Went out to do round 1 of shoveling. Only 5-6 inches. No where near what I was expecting for this morning. Not likely to get the 2 feet that was forecast in my area. NHgirl1970 though, she'll probably get slammed.
Must be bad. UPS is not making any deliveries or pick-ups in MA, NH, VT, ME, RI or CT.

Stay safe!!!

Kim
IIRC, those states had issued traffic curfews which means emergency vehicles only. UPS doesn't qualify.

Have PV-500 & willing to travel.

It's 5 PM here and the wind is still whipping around. My husband is out snow blowing. Schools have been canceled for tomorrow also. New England weather! I'm ready for warm. I live near the beach.
Schools are canceled here in southern NH tomorrow too. We still have some snow falling and last I knew my town had 22 inches.

And here comes our storm. Certainly not 24 inches, but 4-6, with a lot of ice. JUST IN TIME to completely wreck the three home inspections I have scheduled for our new rental homes this week. I.E. pushing back closing, I.E. delaying the renters I already have scheduled to move in. Great...........................
If we dont get this big winter storm they have forecasted for tonight, I will be mad. It is way past my bed tim and if we dont get any snow, I have to be up by 5. So please please weatherman dont be wrong this time.
