OfficeMax usually has BOGO deals on paper...
Mary, I recently got 5 reams for $1.00 after rebate from Staples. I'll check to see if I can find anything current.
I would check Staples weekly. I think the last month they had individual reams for free after rebate. This week it's 10 reams for $14.99 after rebate.
Office depot and staples both have paper now with rebates. Office depot also has 12 packages of pens free with rebates.
slickdeals.net provides notifications of deals like this ... just search "paper" or "office"

Staples has paper rebates often, and I think there are 4 rebates per household allowed for the same period. And you can submit the rebates online so you don't have to spend any money on postage.
Office Depot has a fairly good deal coming up next week. The deal nondas told us about is no longer available at my local Office Depot and it was in store only. I checked today.

Look at the Office Depot and staples ads. Every week one or the other has a deal.

Probably best to contact them first though. With the history of the unibomber and alqaida possibly putting bombs in printer cartridges it might shut down the school for a day. But kids need also need a break...True story: Got free milk shakes and free cafeteria food when there was a bomb scare at my high school in 2000. Evidentiary school truck deliverys are planned to far in advance to accomidate disgruntled teens so it would have spoiled....

The penny a ream sale at Staples is when I stock up. Start watching the back-to-school promos and be sure to have the loyalty card. I buy branded or heavier stock paper so the printer is less likely to jam.
Shopping SoCal and Maui.
Or you can use junk mail that you get in your mailbox. Just print on the back(blank side). I call that frugality at its finest.
Staples is doing their penny deal this week. Get the coupon on their website, buy one ream, then get an Easy Rebate for all but one cent.
I just got my rebate card from the last one....cool!
