'Back to School' bargains for your business

This time of year the office supply places as well as retailers like Target and Walmart are trying to capture the spending of families on supplies and clothing for the upcoming school year by offering really cheap school supplies which may also be useful for your business. Top that off with many states offering a tax free holiday for certain types of items and you can snag some real bargains.

My state is limiting tax free equipment and clothing to $50 per item I believe, so no computers in the bargains here. But this is the time of year we find good sales on underwear and summer clothing and no sales tax makes those items even better values.

Some places even have tax free weeks that cover stuff that might be needed in a dorm room, so that could included bed and bath stuff, small lamps and side table, etc. Check on line with your state or county web site to see what may be on the jurisdiction's tax-free list and the dates.

A little known resource for items mentioned by wales and Flash is Aldi's middle aisle of weekly specials. I've seen everything from memory foam mattresses to tablets to typical office supplies to camping gear to dorm gear...you name it. Their weekly specials seem aligned with circulars from other stores.
