That is the whole selling point. No commute, sitting in your pajamas, working. No lengthy report after you shift is done. I do have a feeling that you will be hustling for the entire hours you are working though. I checked into the delivery end of Amazon and realized that it was for someone that could run to make deliveries the entire shift. 30 to 60 stops per 4 hour shift. $18 per hour, your car, your gas. I took a pass.
I am starting this job next week. You need to have windows 8.1 or greater, and 10 mbps download and 5 mbps upload. You need at least a 21" monitor. And if working from a laptop, you need an external keyboard and mouse. You also need to be connected to your router or modem via an ethernet cable.

I thought $10 an hour was a great starting rate, but then again, I haven't worked in over 20 years, soo... smiling smiley I didn't see anything about a bonus though. It took about 3 weeks to get through all the paperwork and such. There's a background check, I9 paperwork to get filled out, technical requirement tests on your computer and internet speed and a bunch of paperwork to electronically sign. There's also about 45 hours of training, which is paid.

I'm excited and nervous to start!
Good Luck. Some money in your pocket from the comfort of home is always great. No lunatic road rage incidents, traffic jams, ugly commutes. You won't even spill a to go cup of coffee on yourself.
45 hours of training- Holy crap. I can draw blood with 8 hours of training.

Did you receive an email saying 45 hours of training? I received an email stating that I would have 4 weeks of training and that it would be my scheduled work shift, which is 45 hours each week?? I was thinking I was going to be doing 4 full weeks of training. It also read that my headset and things would arrive after I started training?

PS In my area, I had to drive 2.5 hours one way to turn in my license and ss for paperwork purposes... so I spent 5 hours of drive time. But working this type of job will be similar to me since I was doing customer service before.

I was thinking with 4 weeks of training, I'd at least get a feel for it and a months worth of pay if it turns out it's not my style. But I figure I'll be alright. I've heard from a friend that he was getting almost his full 60 hours in each week with them. You do get reviewed (from my email experience) after 3 months, and 6 months to see if they keep you since it's seasonal positions.

The job I'm getting is for permanent part time. So maybe the training is slightly different. They stated during a web meeting that we would have 3 weeks to complete a total of 45 hours of self directed training for the first phase. They never really stated what the other phases would be though.

I would have had to drive to another state to have the I9 paperwork filled out. I sent them an email asking if I could just go to a local notary, and they were fine with that. Thankfully!

I wish I knew a little more about how the shifts are going to work...supposedly I can pick my own blocks of time. I have this merchandising job that I just started as well, which has a ton of work in my area. But I'm a little afraid to commit to too much work with them since I don't know all the details with this amazon job.
Huh, maybe it is similar. Mine is full time seasonal worker for 4-6 months and she mentioned 3 weeks of training. I received an email that mentioned 4 weeks of training. The email said we would have options of web, chat, email, and phone. The webinar told us we were to pick our schedules and that would also be our training schedule for the next few weeks. My headset has shipped out but I'm not fully set up. Hoping to do that this weekend and get a feel for what's up. I was able to pick my schedule through the scheduling tool. I start October 3rd and I'm blocked out 06:30-15:30 5 days a week but they did tell us in 6 weeks, they may ask us to change our schedules and to expect from Thanksgiving through January to be 60 hour weeks.

MegglesKat
Wish I would've known about the notary idea though. That would have saved me quite a few hours/miles of drive time. Bummmmmer haha. Notary is free on our campus.

MegglesKat
I'm not quite set up either. I received something in the mail from them, but I'm still on vacation and haven't had a look at it yet. During the busy season I'll be expected to work anywhere from 20-40 hours a week, not to exceed 60. During the off season I'll be required to work 1-30 hours a week. Hours are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

I never expected to make it past the initial questions they had us answer in the very beginning. I thought for sure I'd never hear from them again after that, hahaha. I'm looking forward to working from the comfort of home, like Cindy said, and not having to deal with driving in winter or sitting in traffic.
$450 for a week's worth of work is pretty good, in training, if you ask me. Maybe do it just for that and see how the job goes!
Anyone know how they are on scheduling? This would be nice part time work, but I see they mention:

Ability to take any shift Sunday through Saturday from 3:00am to Midnight Pacific Time zone

Here is what they sent to me in an email:

"“Flexible part time employment” means that, instead of receiving a fixed weekly work schedule, you will have the opportunity to choose from a set of available hours, posted at times and quantities dictated by business need. During peak business fluctuations (typically November and December), you are required to work between 20 and 40 hours per week, and in all other months between 1 and 30 hours per week."

My thoughts exactly!
Yeah, it appears we have signed up for different types of the same job. I am required to work 45 hours a week with 30 minute unpaid lunch breaks, and 2 - 15 minute forced paid breaks. I can work up to 60 and am expected to most likely hit that 60 hours each week from Nov 1 thru Jan 1. They gave us a schedule tool and I could pick 2 or 3 days off depending on if I wanted 9, 10, 11, or 12 hour shifts. I was able to pick a start time and choose an end time based off my start time. For myself, I am starting off with Saturday & Sunday off. I figure it will change, but for now that matched up with my guys schedule. I then chose that I would like to start at 9am and it showed a few options starting at 9. I picked a shift that ended at 6:30pm which is a pretty fair work day.

We were told to expect 45 a week and not to exceed 60 as full time seasonal workers. She told us we would be evaluated after our 4th month to see if we get to stay on longer and then they may keep us full time.

I haven't set anything up just yet. I plan to tomorrow though. I have a desk ready but my laptop needs love. I need to get my honey to give it a checkup and fix any bugs then set up my VPN and such for me. It helps that my guy does computer tech. He's in networking and information technology with some coding work so I've got a guy who can get me set up and ready! woohoo

I had a buddy who did this gig for two years out of an office with them and he loved it.

I do hear rumors that we get a 10% discount off up to $1,000 in purchases fulfilled by amazon each year. Not a lot... but it's something? I was kinda hoping for free prime tongue sticking out smiley

Awesome! Bonus opportunities and an employee discount! And lets not forget time and a half for overtime. This is getting better and better!

I haven't set up my station yet. I was planning to do it yesterday, but I had a reset that took way longer than I anticipated. Then when I got home I had another couple of hours of entering surveys and pictures and reporting out of stocks. Not so sure I'm going to last as a merchandiser, which is a shame because I actually love the work. It's the stress of trying to get done in the time frame they give you and filling out those surveys, which are a bit confusing..
I started setting up some today but am not quite there yet. I have about 5 days left, but I'm sure with two days I can get it going. I need to update, set up some programs, and so forth and possibly get out a different laptop. My guy is in networking and IT so he can set me up. That's kind of the issue too... because he has our computers set up with updates he wants us to have, passwords, programs, and such that he feels we should keep on there and so on tongue sticking out smiley he hasn't let me down yet over the years but he's gonna have to let his quirks go and set it up like amazon says hahah.

I receive my password ticker today. That's what I'm calling it. The little thing that gives you a new password every 25 seconds to log in with. Pretty nifty. I hung it up high in a room with no shelves so kitties would leave it alone!

I sure could have used your guy today! It was a disaster for me. I was supposed to do 4 hours of orientation today, but I never made it that far. I didn't have the correct password for the scheduling manager and I locked myself out. Was on the phone with tech support but they couldn't help. Plus my computer kept freezing. I'm still punched in too because I have no idea how to punch out! I will try again in the morning.

Keep your guy close by for assistance!
job no longer available

... looks like they full...would have missed it anyway... twc is a pain to set up... X.X

I haven't been sent an email yet for logging in. How long did it take to get your email? I received an email that said to expect another email within 1-3 days of starting but it's down to about 48 hours now and I'm getting worried. I emailed them proof of my requirements but they never replied. It said I was supposed to email a spreadsheet but my computer opened up a notepad document so I sent that. At first it said undeliverable but I sent two or three more emails and didn't get kicked back on those. Kinda worried. *sigh* really hoping to hear back soon. I emailed chat support and all he could say was my start date was pending? I picked a date of October 3rd so I'm not sure how it's pending when I've already picked it. I asked if they had received my requirements and his answers were stinky. Of course the name clued me in that it was an out of country chat agent who may not have access to the information I was requesting. Anyway, fingers crossed your last few days have gotten better and that I get my email with set up information soon!

My start date was Sept 28th at 6 am. On Sept 27th, at 11:58 pm, I received my login information! I never heard back from them either after I sent them my technical results. But you got your Gemalto, so I think that's a good sign! I'm kinda off to a rocky start. Thanks for the positive thoughts, I certainly need them!!

Sounds promising. thanks for the feedback. I will get up early that morning and check if it hasn't came the night before. I usually crash around 9 so I'll just get up around 6 and check things out. I'm scheduled for 9:30 AM. Hopefully someone emails me back... but I am feeling doubtful. Your words are helping me though. I did get my token. They're pretty sharp.

I have my laptop set up. It has an 18 inch screen. It's on my left. It's hard wired in, with a hard wire mouse extra, a hard wire keyboard extra, this dang ethernet cable, a set of USB speakers, and an HDMI hooked into my 23 inch monitor on my right. I feel like I'm in cord Hades!

I've actually been a bit stressed. Everyone is so friendly and nice, though. In conference, I hear other workers say they are having a swell time, that it's so easy, that it's all laid out perfectly and it's wonderful to be so informed but I'm over here struggling to stay up with what the heck is going on. I'm ahead on modules, but behind on retention if that makes sense. I plan on going back through them if I can. My first day modules disappeared but they were set up modules. I'm absorbing all I can. I had a friend who did this, so perhaps he can tell me more on the weekend about it too. I'm watching videos on the Tube too which surprisingly is helpful as well. Today was easier as my second day. Setting up my VPN, Work Resources and so forther was stressing me out and so were all the passwords but I think about it and I've earned almost $200 for just stressing about problems I'm sure others are encountering. I have about 10-11 more days of training so 99 hours left. That is kind of a lot but scary! if you want to add me to the resource tool, please do so! I'd be happy to have a friend on My communcation tool/chat on there!

I did customer service as a restaurant manger for almost 6 years and was constantly told how sweet I was, how wonderful I was, how I was always so nice, upbeat, smiling and so forth. I have a bit of a thick accent though, as I live in the south east... It appears we may be handling customer service in the US and Canada? Possibly the UK and other English speaking countries with more training? That worries me about my good ole southern accent winking smiley

Oh my goodness, I'm so stressed too! My training is self directed, so I don't have anyone else to interact with, bummer.

This is information overload, lol. And I don't feel as though I'm retaining much either.

I did 7 hours so far today, but broken up. I did 1 hour, then a break. Then 2 hrs, then break. Then 4 hours. I'm exhausted.. I'm going to put in some more time after I shower.

I have some modules stuck on "in progress" that I don't know what to do with, and I screwed up my time card yet again. Ugh lol

I have no idea how to add you to resource tool, or even what that is, lol. Can you add me? Or tell me how to do it, please?!

I hope things are getting easier for you!
