Macy's is closing 68 stores — here's where they will shut down

I looked and I get why. It's a good move.
Sad. Wish there had been better business practices in place.
They have some brands I love. This sucks.

It's staying at my closest mall, but the Sears is closing.
None closing in L.A., but the one in Santa Barbara (gorgeous), and San Diego are closing. Being a Macy's shopper for over 30 years, I'm not surprised. when the economy was good they over built, like Sears who is also closing stores including mine, but, I hardly go in there. Macy's asks me to model their INC line over the holidays, have done it the past three years, not this year. I have a love/hate relationship with Macy's, I love them, my Macy's card hates them.......I have seen it change through the years.

I'm curious about this. How did you involved with modeling for them (and is it possible to get involved as an outsider)?

I'm a huge shopper there and pretty much know the Salesgirls, especially one who asked for my phone# to tell me about promotions. I buy a lot of their exclusive INC clothes, as they fit well. They have a modeling/holiday show around Nov. when their fall clothes are in. She asked me a few years ago, they want all ages. I said sure, and had a blast. I should say when I was a young girl (20), my uncle was a big Designer/Manufacter
for woman's coats and suits in San Francisco, and I modeled for him., You don't need experience, just that the clothes look good on you. The show is over until next year. I suggest you start wearing the INC brand, then around Oct. ask if you can be in their fashion in a non aggressive way, you should know about the brand. My family had been seriously involved in the clothing business, but Macy's didn't know that, it's in my blood. I'd love to be a stylist.
