Verizon billing

I keep getting bills from Verizon but do not have an account and have not had an account for years now. I use their email I keep getting bills thru the email. I called and spoke to someone about it.... so they issued me a credit, but I still keep getting bills. Who do I need to contact .... FCC? I will contact BBB but isn't their a Federal agency to contact?

lucky, how did they issue you a credit if you don't have an account you are paying? What are the bills for?

Do you mean that they issued a credit for the amount on the statement you received, making the statement a zero balance? But now you are continuing to receive monthly statements because they believe you have ongoing monthly phone service with them? If yes, contact the Public Utility Commission in your state. The Public Utility Commission of most states have online complaint forms that can be submitted in just a minute or two.

roflwofl ,thank you so much, Yes I found a listing for New York Public Utility Commission!!! YAY. Verizon customer service reps are morons. I called and said to stop service and I was using another provider. The person that "ended" my service did not do it correctly. I will not call them again and be on hold for 45 minutes to still get a stupid bill.
The Utility Commissions won't fight on your behalf. You can file a complaint with them, but no one will see it.

Since you are still receiving bills, log in to your account and cancel the service. You will have to speak with someone to get the past bills straightened out. Speak with a Tier 2 rep or a manager.

.

That may depend on the state in which you are located. I can't answer fof New York or any other state, but Texas has some fairly strong customer protection laws. The Public Utility Commission in Texas does contact the utility company and will insist that the utility company respond to a customer's complaint. The Texas PUC will review the utility company's response to determine whether any resolution is fair and within Texas law and PUC rules. Customer complaints are not always concluded to the customer's satisfaction, but they are handled fairly according to Texas law and PUC rules.
Lucky7s, try contacting your state attorney general and filing a complaint with them [ag.ny.gov] . The AG's office will mediate with a senior executive at Verizon. (I volunteered for a year at my AG's office and this sort of complaint was handled there.)

Good luck! Verizon is nightmare.
Chris, yes Verizon is a nightmare. That is why I changed my services to Time Warner. I called Verizon several times telling them I had no Internet or it had cut out. This went on for a while. I finally got fed up and called Time Warner. I cancelled service with Verizon and told the rep I had switched. He had an attitude plus against me for switching. ???? Someone from Verizon came over (>>>> after I changed to Time Warner) and did a test ....They found out it was an electric problem. I had to have a new meter. They should have tested it before I had someone else for service.
