Going to be in a Movie!!! Yeah!!!

My husband and myself are going to be unpaid extras on the movie set Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt, Phillip Seymore Hoffman and Jonah Hill. It is filming at the Oakland Collesium next week and we have reservations to go. They are paying for our parking and providing snacks. We have to dress like its winter time (yuck) and will be on set for about 6-7 hours. They are having a free raffle for things like computers, mp3 players, phones and all kinds of things. I am excited. Can't you tell. Oh, there is a chance that we could become PAID extras depending on what they need and what we do.

you'll have to do a little discreet wave, so we know which is you.
My daughter had a single line in the first Scooby Doo movie ("Oh my God, he's so CUTE"winking smiley and poor thing, it was deleted from the movie.
But because the line took her from being an 'extra' to a 'cast member' (even though her name doesn't show in the closing credits), she gets a royalty's cheque each quarter for when the movie went to DVD.
Well done.
You have every reason to be excited!
That is great...enjoy and you'll be our STAR!!! Tell us what Brad Pitt looks like in person....

I have to sign a confidentiality statement. It is crazy. Actually they want you to be crazy. There will only be 300 extras so we will be digitally reproduced to fill the stadium. I am hoping to get my face painted by their staff instead of doing it myself. My problem is I don't have any A's gear. I have to swing by a sports store soon. It is only a week away. Can't take pictures, but I will paint a picture through the magic of words. LOL
too funny! LOL

I am almost certain that Brad Pitt began his career shopping for Market Force. It taught him tolerance, patience, and willingness to accept the he was always wrong.

That explains a lot about Brad. lol
Some people have been posting pics from the set. I thought they said no cameras. You can check things out on facebook - Moneyball Movie- cant wait till Friday.
I hope you have a good time, Fitey. You are obviously looking forward to this experience.

They film movies on location all the time here, and having lived in LA for a year, movie people are all over the place. For me, buying logoed atheletic so I can fit in to a place where I won't get paid and have to spend 8 hours in the CA sun in July is not fun. :-)

We chose to film in the late afternoon 5:00pm - Midnight. Have to dress like it is cold. They suggest green and gold. Everyone from the set has been saying its a blast. Apparently we have a liason who entertains us from time to time when we are not needed and there are hourly raffles for some really cool stuff. Free food and snacks too. Truely just excited to do something different that I don't have to write a report on. Brad Pitt helps, but spending the afternoon doing something so out of character with my honey will be the best.
You have a nice time. Sneak some phone pix in. :-) It is always great to do something with your family.

The weather here has been amazing in the low 80's, we are having a great summer. My town of Valencia has made it easier and less expensive for studios to get permits to film than in L.A., and is becoming quite a film town. CSI films here as does many movies. Disney is buying up tons of land to move their offices or open more....there building now. I meet many in the industry, it's fun to watch a film or a T.V. show. The revenue this brings to us is a good thing.

Enjoy!!!

I got the gear and am ready to go. Jerseys, t-shirts, hats, mitts. I will be the one with an A's hat, long brown pigtails with huge yellow and green bows. Might even paint my nails green and yellow. Got to show some spirit.
Got the nail polish on. Bought some crazy green and yellow makeup. Huge green and yellow curly ribbons are waiting for my hair. Than I realized. I have to do my make up and hair in the car, because I have two Mystery shops on the way to the stadium. I don't think I would look inconspicous all dressed up. lol... I can only imagine the poor kid at the burger joint and the cell phone store. lmao
I was there from 4:00pm on Friday til 5:45am on Saturday. I sat ten feet from Jonah Hill. I saw Brad Pitt and two of his children and didn't even recognize Phillip Seymore Hoffman because he shaved his head. I am exhausted and yes I snuck in a picture or two.
4 pm till 6am? Arggh! I could not do that. Was it fun?

It was a fun, different, once in a lifetime (sometimes boring) experience that my hubby and I got to do together. When the movie comes out on DVD I will enjoy trying to find us in the stadium shots. I looked insane so I shouldn't be to hard to spot. Right behind home plate for some scenes, behind the A's dugout in another. Then twenty of us, up in the nosebleed seats, in groups of two for us to be digitally reproduced.
Will digital reproduction affect the population of the planet? Tee Hee.

Dear Lord the I didn't take the ramifications of such into account beforehand. Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
I hope the film editors are kind, recognize talent and don't leave your scenes on the cutting room floor!
I did not get to eat pizza, but there were hot dogs and lots of trail mix and granola bars.

As for talent, I don't know that it took much to sit and stand around screaming for an imaginary homerun take after take after take. But I was enthusiastic and I lost my voice from screaming. My hands were raw from high-fiving and clapping. My butt is still sore from the stadium seating - would I do it again. Sure, in a heartbeat.
