Chicken parm. Whole wheat pasta with slivered garlic, onions, assorted peppers. Dessert - Frozen blueberry yogurt and Irish coffee.
No shops tonight. Instead, I grilled a flat iron steak, with a recipe I found online using oilve oil, Italian seasoning, and Balsamic vinegar. First time ever making that particular cut of beef, and it was actually quite tasty, and not at all tough or chewy, as I had feared. Next time though I'll kick it up a notch with a little cayenne, or more crushed red pepper. Dessert will be some Kozy Shack rice pudding. Yeah, I know, it's store bought, but's it is all natural, and you'd be surprised how good it is.
I am taking home leftover steak from a hotel room service. I will steam some spinach and make a baked potato to accompany sliced, cold steak. Yum! Red wine and chocolate round out the menu.

Wing place shop tonight. No out of pocket, plus a nice bonus. Not gourmet, but ok for a change of pace. Planning on devouring some more Kozy Shack rice pudding tonight too.
Trying some recipes from one of the Food Network folks. All just two ingredients if you don't count olive oil or S&P. Roast chicken breasts with garlic herb goat cheese under the skin, sauteed zucchini with lemon zest and juice and boiled baby potatoes with pesto. It certainly couldn't be easier at only about 15 minutes to prep and 30 or less to cook. I'll have to let you know if it tastes worth a damn.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Grilled some burgers, then had a leftover Russell Stover white pastel Easter bunny for dessert.
Everything hot off the grill ~ bone-in, skin-on chicken pieces finished with a Jack Daniels bbq sauce. Grilled corn, zucchini, asparagus, served on top of lightly grilled endive, sprinkled with this and that and drizzled with ev olive oil.
Pot roast the easy way (in the crock pot all day), macadamia white chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
Alfredo lasagna florentine, loaf of homemade bread and an apple pie

I was invited to an early dinner with a group of seniors, and it was potluck. Lots of yummies, but one of my favorites, from my favorite ninety year old senior, was dessert. He split Twinkies, lengthwise. Then topped with sliced strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. He joked (I think) that the Twinkies may have been years old. He then added that he attributed his long life to eating lots of preservativessmiling smiley
Left over home made beef enchiladas...There are no Mexican restaurants in Vermont (worth going to)
Business dinner tonight, with some pretty good "eats." Had red snapper in an orange sauce, carved roast beef, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, cookies, brownies, eclairs, coffee, and oh yeah, an open bar!
I finally had my Hate Chicken and they screwed up my Cobb salad! :/

They have some pretty nice dinners for you trash guys! smiling smiley Wow!

Dad & I had some specially-seasoned hamburger patties, with bacon & cheddar mixed in, that I got on a shop yesterday. And some steak fries & cole slaw. And the last of my home-made from-scratch cinnamon rolls for dessert. Then I had a few watermelon vodkas. It's really good with that watermelon fizzy water from Wal-Mart. smiling smiley You wouldn't believe how many times I'm having to back-track to correct typos tonight. smiling smiley

Found some nice steak on sale, so steak, my twice baked cheddar potatoes, and steamed fresh spinach.

Hot words and cold shoulder. Crow will probably be on the menu tomorrow.

Ham Bbq sandwiches; shredded chopped ham lunch meat covered in a homemade bbq sauce. It is a dish from my childhood in Western PA, usually Isaly's ham back then.

Here is their recipe for it:

Doing the Korean BBQ alone, so the 25.00 reimbursement will go a long way.

Chicken oven roasted - with the skin on - red bell peppers, mushrooms and herb chicken sauce; brown rice with left over veggies dumped in; garlicky sauteed green beans; pound cake topped with Greek yogurt and strawberry all fruit.
London broil (although London "Grill" would be technically more accurate!), corn on the cob, & organic salad. No shops tonight.
I'm glad some people can eat so much of the organic and healthy food; kudos to you. I look at it like I only live once and I'm going to enjoy it.

Angel hair pasta tonight, with homemade spaghetti sauce (my wife loves my cooking).

I eat lots of fruits & veggies, lots of whole-grains, etc. Can't afford organic, except on rare occasion. But lots of fruits & veggies. Problem is, and reason I'm still fat, is that I like *other* stuff, too. Cheese, sauces, chocolate, home-baked goods, etc.

My brother-in-law picked up bananas once, and got the organic ones because the store moved the 'regular' ones way in the back. I was surprised that the organic ones actually had a better flavor and texture. Dad (I know I keep picking on him a lot, lately) said, "Boy, these orgasmic bananas sure are good." winking smiley (Really, he did.)

Anyway, tonight Dad & I had scrambled eggs (just eggs, some butter, and S/P) and French Toast. Then I had some strawberries & Nilla Wafers. Earlier in the day, I had a big-assed bowl of fruit ~ apples, red & green grapes, tangelos, and bananas.

I am not an organic fanatic, but do try to buy certain items. Generally speaking, it is best to buy organic for produce in which the skin or peel is eaten. Reason: The pesticides and chemical fertilizers used in conventional agriculture tend to accumulate more on or just below the surface. So I always try to buy organic tomatoes, apples, pears, grapes, strawberries, lettuce, & celery. To avoid blowing my whole food budget, I buy conventional bananas, citrus, cucumbers, potatoes.

Anyway, back to the thread, tonight's dinner was:

Leftover London Broil, green beans, and guava pastelitos for dessert (Cuban pastries, in case you are not familiar with them.)
You don't eat your potato skins, Trashman? Even for baked potatoes? Or are they different (safer from pesticides) because they're underground? I've heard about the method you use for when to go organic... I still just can't afford it most of the time. The strawberries are 2x the price! Literally ~ 2lbs/$3 for the 'regular', 1lb/$3 for the organic. :/

I'm not sure yet what we're having tonight... Dad's watching the Trailblazers in the playoffs tonight at his brother's house... sometimes they feed him a full dinner over there, sometimes just a snack. I have some mixed ground beef & pork that I want to make a meatloaf out of... if I don't get that done tonight, it will be tomorrow. When we have meatloaf, we like baked potatoes with veggies over the top ~ a mixture of creamed corn and peas & carrots.

Yes Storm, I do on occasion eat potato skins, but never more than three. I refuse to eat four skins...
Cinco de mayo, a day late. We had friends over, and feasted on shrimp tacos. Added, guacamole, pico de gallo, and baked pita chips. Corona and/or mango margaritas, free for all. No one asked for dessert.
Hebrew Nationals tonight, with cheese sauce and chili.
