Question about Maritz

After you have done your eligibility questions for the first time on a specific client, there doesn't seem to be a way to just "view the shop instructions" without requesting the shop. Is there? I clicked on the "get jobs" button because that is what I did the first time to see the assignment, and instead, it showed up in my requested jobs list. Anyone have some input?

Thanks!
Brian

That is pretty standard with many companies that you can't see the instructions until you sign up. Unfortunately it isn't limited to Maritz. That is one of the biggest difficulties with MSing. You agree to do something and have only a limited idea of what it is.
Brian - I don't know how you can get into the shop instructions at Maritz without requesting the shop, but if you'll call them, someone will talk to you or get back to you and answer all your questions. It's better not to try to communicate with email because they prefer to work on the phone.

The stations that I do for them require a digital camera, a scanner, a timer or stop watch to check flow rate on one kind of station, and an internet connection. At the stations, you will have a required list of pictures to take, and you will also take pictures of all issues noted both inside and outside. On one brand of station I do, I have to leave a report at the station. There will be certain items of information you have to gather and report. The banks require a scanner and an internet connection.

Different brand stations are shopped in different parts of the country. What's available to you may not be what's available to me. We can't discuss brands because we've already named Maritz.

There is a "Review Shop Details" link on the right under the first available date to shop. This link will give you a brief overview of what is expected on the shop. It tells what size your photos need to be, shop hours, and what photos you are expected to take.

The details do not go into specifics about the evaluation report. The only way you are going to see that is be accepted for the shop. Sometimes if one saw the evaluation first the shop would not be acceepted, One of the evaluations is 20 pages of questions. It is not that bad once it is gotten into but can be a stopper.

I took a shop over the phone and printed the materials when I got home. One look at the evaluation I called and said thanks but no thanks. I was not going to touch that one with a 10' pole.

Good luck
Maybe they won't be happy with me telling everyone this, but Maritz is great about talking to MSpers on the phone. I have never had any problems working with them. I don't think they pay very well (but I always get bonuses for jobs that are outside my area.) If you call and get someone who is NOT helpful, just call back. I really wish more MSCs were like this one.
