Market force Blue fired me, because my Husband pissed them off

My husband had some disagreements with Market Force blue because of some shops that they refused to pay him for( he had some legitimate points but it's really beside the point)...so they fired me! lol They stated the "association" between me and another shopper was a cause for concern and they were proactively blocking me even though I hadn't done anything wrong(they admitted that). WTH? I had done probably over 100 shops for them and never had any problems. Is that even legal? I assume it is since I am an Independent contractor, but definitely not fair.

The funny thing is that we both still do jobs for them on the Purple side.

>It is legal. As an independent contractor, you are not an employee so rather than being fired your association with the company was terminated. A company (or a shopper, for that matter) does not need a reason to terminate. Either us shoppers or MSPs can decide at any time, for any reason (or NO reason) to stop working together.

In this case, it sounds like communication between your husband and MF completely broke down and they felt he might be angry with them....and they felt at risk having his wife still working for them. Since you two share a household, he could conceivably still log into their website using your login ID. Do you also share a computer? Or, if not, you probably can each access each other's computer? So separating you limits MF's liability because it closes the door to any interaction between them and your husband. It is sad for you but I can understand why they might feel insecure continuing to work with the wife of a shopper they had disagreements with. And I just read that the same thing happened with Bestmark. Bestmark doubtless also felt there was liability for them having terminated one shopper in a household but having another still working for them. If I were you, I would stop telling MSPs that you are married to him. Two of my family members also shop for many of the same companies I shop with (one shares a home with me and one lives a few blocks from us) and we have not told any of the MSPs that we are related.
I have never told them that we are married, and MF admitted they do not know the exact association, aside that we have same last name and live together. I don't know if Bestmark fired, me just says that my log in is not active, and I haven't gotten a hold of them yet to see why.
Yeh, it is a household thing. If there were 7 other people living in your home, same address/phone number, shopping they also would probably have been deactivated. You are just stuck in the wrong place. Having deactivated him, they see him as a threat and would remove anyone who offered the possibility that he might have access to their system.
