It's a violation of our confidentiality agreements to say which mystery shop companis have which clients. We can get into deep legal trouble by doing that.

Her Serene Majesty, Cettie - Goat Queen of Zoltar, Sublime Empress of Her Caprine Domain
you can't get in deep legal trouble in almost all cases as virtually every company advertises which companies they have on their respective homepages.

So if it's able to be found on their homepage, then you can talk about it. Also most agreements don't actually include a clause saying you can't reveal which client they have.

I'm still learning 24/7.
I know Jack in the Box will have a new MSC starting in April...the test is ridiculous, will be available at the EIN site, do your homework.

No one will get into legal trouble but the mystery shopping companies also see these posts and they may just decide to deactivate you.

Why take a risk?

Here, Jack in the Box has not been shopped in several years. Currently, it is being wooed by two MSPs. Neither requires an EIN. One requires a test, the other does not. I haven't tested, yet. I've heard from shopper friends that the test was kind of painless. Actually, I've never eaten at Jack in the Box.

Regarding ICs, and revealing who shops whom ~ even if the ICA does not prohibit it, this forum's posting guidelines do.
Both MSPs have been in the biz for years. One shops pretzels and kitchen supplies, the other does oil changes and gift/card store shops.
I love this cat and mouse game. Maybe next time hide the name of the MSP in the message.

I agree. If you personally email another shopper they could tell you who shops a specific company.

Employer Idenifcation Number. Trendsource will be going all EIN in May, and there has been a great debate of that on the boards. Still up on the fence if I will be making the switch.

Yes and as long as that "shopper" isn't someone from an MSC posting anonymously or they are not affiliated with a company in some way maybe it won't cause you any problems. On the other hand.............

Some companies post publicly who their clients are and some don't. Since they are the clients of the MSC, the MSC has the agreement with that client and knows whether or not said agreement includes the right to use the client's name for promotional purposes. However, we are not privy to their agreement and we are ICs who have no direct relationship with the client, only with the MSC.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

I as well haven't eaten at Jack, but with so many around, will do it now and then. From my understanding, the one I mentioned above already has posted
one (not my area), so, I know they for one got the client, and this test was
like the cori tests, reading nd more reading.

It is an ICA violation to divulge the clients of a mystery shopping company in a PM or a personal e-mail just as it is to reveal clients on the open forum. Of course if done in a personal e-mail or PM only you and your conscience will know ......
Well, the topic has successfully been driven into the ground... the the original question has yet to be answered...
As the following is next to the reply box, there should be no expectation that the question will be answered. "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies." Regardless of individual feelings on the topic, since Jacob is our host for this forum, the least we can do is respect his guidelines.

@Lisa - I'm beginning to think it may pay off to highlight in Bold or Red or both that particular sentence by the posting box!

People think those of us that honor the guidelines of the forum and our own ICs are selfish. I always felt it was a favor to kindly let someone know, but on another thread I was pretty much told I was a beyotch for it. If someone else violates their own IC or disrespects the guidelines of the forum it won't come back to bite mesmiling smiley

I think in a lot of cases new posters don't read the guidelines even though they are right next to the post. Other times posters ask without thinking about it. There are some who do not agree and want to share or have clients shared with them regardless of the rules. Our moderators are on the job so they have been deleting any ICA violations. I've noticed since the content of a few posts have been deleted with "ICA Violation" inserted, the questions about who-shops-XXX been fewer. The majority who ask in open forum now are new posters. I have received PMs asking for names and I explain, using the same words I've used in open forum, that I consider revealing clients of MSPs to be a violation of my ICA. I also think like LisaSTL that it is kind to let people know, because I choose to believe that they are asking because they don't realize. Maybe I'm naive.
I think so many ask the question (who shops who) they are pushing the envelope.
How can you not know we do NOT give out that information. I'm tired of that question and wonder how much of our information they absorb....sorry, having laser today and not in the mood to hold anyone's hand. We are answering your
question, please hear it.

just in case you didn't read my above post, I wrote it again....

Why not call the Pepsico/Pizza Hut/KFC/Taco Bell Corporate office in Irvine, CA. and ask how to get in touch with the department that handles mystery shopping? I have had some success this way with other companies, but have not heard that any of the above are evaluated by subcontractors. Good luck!
Are Jack in the Box and Jack's under the same ownership? We don't have any JITB's in GA, that I know of but there are a number of Jack's that serve burgers and fries.
