Customer Impact - Self Assign?

Is anyone able to self assign for Customer Impact? Right now, I can only request shops and only get about 33% of what I ask for even though I have done six shops for them and earned 10/10 shopper ratings on all of them.

Not me. My situation is the same as yours except that last month I batted .000. I applied for five shops at locations where I had not shopped in the past 120 days. All came back nada. Then, about March 15th, I got an email from the scheduler asking if I could do a shop that had been flaked on by someone else. Unfortunately, I was on a long roadtrip doing other shops and didn't get the email until I returned that evening--long after the shop had been filled by someone else.

Probably just as well, though. I am kind of getting tired of the pizza at the buffet place I always shop.

Just keep trying. I do shops for them every month, and I also do not have a self-assign ability.

Also, what may help - take some of those "hard-to-fill" locations that may require a longer drive. With gas prices up, they may not get filled, but if you OCCASIONALLY (heck, not all the time, just occasionally now.. LOL) let them know you would be willing to pick up a shop - it may help your chances.

(I read another thread where schedulers will warm up to those folks who do go out of the way, and some schedulers will even help you put together a route).

My last shop was a 10, I cannot self-assign except for the Hawaii restaurant.

I have done a lot of shops for them (all rated 9 or 10) and cannot self assign but if they have shops that nobody wants to do, I try to help. They are nice people to work for.
I got one today that was a last minute shop at the end of the month. Luckily it fit into a small route that I already had scheduled for the end of the week. Eating pizza may keep me from buying the greasy food at the bar where I play pool three nights a week.

Is it common for them to let a lot of people apply for a shop before assigning it?

Me and another MSer are trying to get on some dining shops in our area. We've both put in for the same shops because we tend to take one another one different dining shops together since it normally allows for another adult. We're both new to CI, so we figure our rating is part of the issue, but we haven't seen these shops get filled either.
They pay via PayPal around the 24th.

They take awhile assigning, I suspect they have many shoppers, they are a good MSC.

Live consciously....
I am scheduled to perform my first shops (a 3-for-1 kinda deal) today with CI. I have been sick in bed all day and it is now almost 4pm in South Florida. I already e-mailed the scheduler but I have not received a reply yet. Does anyone know if their schedulers check e-mails over the weekend?

I don't think I will physically be able to perform these shops today. Does their system automatically cancel shops? Or am I covered because of my e-mail?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I know when I have emailed Barbry Booth on weekends she has always gotten back to me in a timely manner. I usually do it direct though, not through the system.
UPDATE (SORT OF): I sent an e-mail to B Booth yesterday through their system and to her own e-mail address. I have not heard back. I did not perform the shops yesterday due to being ill which I am still feeling sick today. I have not received any nasty e-mails about being late or the shops being canceled. All three shops are still on my shop log.

If I don't have a response by Monday morning, should I just go ahead and perform the shops? Or should I wait to hear back from someone at CI?

I would wait to hear; they might have someone else already going that day and if it is not approved for you to go and you have to put money out, you will not be reimbursed.
Thanks Suzieboz. I don't have to put any money out and I will be working in the same town as these shops for my "regular" job so I wouldn't be spending a lot of gas money either. :-)

I have 10's with them, but I am always either asked or I apply. Not sure if they can be self assigned. Great company, however.
I am curious I will EVER get an assignment with CI. The postings for Southern California are very few and I have been declined every single request.
Sometimes the request sits there a while but I've never gotten one. I would really like to hang in there, the restaurant titles I'm able to see are very desirable. In the meantime I've been able to get 3 or 4 jobs with brand new MS companies I've signed up for just this month. I've been trying with CI for months. Anyone else in the same boat? They must have a lot of shoppers on my area?
For their fine dining assignments, there is a lot of competition from long time shoppers. They get a lot of applications because the restaurants are pretty desirable. In most area, they seem to be able to pick and choose - and they seem to choose shoppers who have successfully performed for them in the past. I would say keep trying. If they post a less desirable shop you might consider taking it. For example, they have a mattress client here. I don't even consider applying because another MSC has the same client and pays twice as much. But if I were a new shopper with them who was hoping to be assigned some of the desirable restaurants, I would apply for the cheapo shop and do it to get on their radar. They are a great company to work with. Love them.
mleighb, I did what Austin suggested. I took their mattress assignment to get my foot in the door. Also, I wanted to gauge CI communication and payment before spending a substantial amount of money for a fine dining. There is a lot of competition; however, there are also long rotations, which can be helpful in getting a shop, depending on the number of restaurants in your area. As i recall, after the mattress shop went okay for CI and me, when I applied for a FD assignment, I added a note to the scheduler in the comment box. I don't know if it was read, or helped, but that led to my first FD with CI.
For the SoCal restaurants, I would suggest starting with one of the hard-to-fill locations out in the desert.

When I had a hotel shop in Palm Springs, I applied for the nearby bar shop and that got my foot in the door.
I love this company. Barbry Booth is a sweetheart to work with.

What I don't like is that my request for sit-down restaurants is always declined. I do not mind helping out when they need to fill in a carside/ take out restaurant shop. Especially towards the end of the month. However I wish that Barbry starts considering my dine-in shops requests and grants me one, every once in a while.
