Good Golly Miss Molly and WOW-a show of appreciation from a Scheduler-Editor

Would you believe I arrived home this evening to find an unexpected Fed Ex envelope at my door.

I looked at the sender's address and it was one of the MSC's I worked for last month, and who paid in way less than 30 days.

Good Golly Ms. Molly. It was a gift from the company - with a thank you from the
Scheduler Editor and Company !

WOW !

WAHOO!

and HOLY COW !

Thank you so much MSC for valuing my work.

Anybody else blessed similarly ?

Just before the end of last December I picked up a shop for my favorite company, it was bonused to the tune of $200. I did the shop and reported it well before the window of time had elapsed, plus had taken 35 extra photos just in case they needed more since it was a very long distance away. A few days later the florist delivery car came up my driveway with a lovely bouquet of red roses directly from the scheduler who had called me. When I accepted the shop the scheduler started to cry. She must have really been up a creek with this location.

Yes, when we post about an unhappy situation, the company name is usually prominent and often the scheduler is named. But when we have a happy post about a great scheduler and company, it would be nice if we gave credit. Of course I want us to report non-paying companies to protect the shopper workforce, but it would be great if we could sometimes focus on GOOD ... and give credit where credit is due.

Hi Cynb,

I thought of that, but just in case no one else who worked for this particular high end MSC received a gift, I didn't mention the name since I dont want anyone's feelings to be hurt. Make sense ? I kind of thought everyone who did the shop would be receiving a gift - but no replies yet. I do put lots of details in my reports though - so if we don't get more answers, maybe that's why I received a gift.

Now you know why it takes me an hour or more to do each report. (:

WOW and kudos to these schedulers..I have gotten thank you emails, no cash or flowers. Just did an emergency flake job on a minutes notice, got a 10 and thank you, was hoping for a job on their board as a good will token, still waiting. Happy to hear this is going on, and yes, please name the scheduler.

WOW - now that is REALLY a gift !
Why isn't getting a 10 enough for a gift, although maybe this thread will set a new trend.

Does a hero citation count? winking smiley

Go ahead, ask me to violate an ICA. I won't do it, and the MSCs that read the board will know not to hire you, since you can't be trusted.
Why, yes, I have heard that Hero Citations can be used for mortgages, gasoline and groceries....

Sarcastic but very funny Missy, and to the point smiling smiley

I've seen the hero citation mentioned. What the heck is it - and if it's just a mention, are they kidding ?
Yes,
I also received a personally written thank you note and a very nice gift from a MSC who also pays very quickly. They are lovely to work with. It was very nice to get a gift like that. Unexpected and a little exciting!

I am the same. I have to say I have done several shops for this company (I have done SO MANY shops over the years....) and I am very particular on my own editing and writing as well. The shops I have done for them were some of the best I have ever done. I even impressed myself with the quality of my writing but I do spend a long time writing up shops and making sure I include all the details--probably just like many of you do too.

I had 2 hero citations that I saved for a year, figuring they would accrue interest, took them to the grocery store and they would not accept them!!! So disapointed. Well at least they both had $1 bonuses.
Where does one score a $200 bonus?!? One of my schedulers wants me to take some rural post office shops by the end of the month, but only bonused $10-$15 each! I can add some banks, gas stations, and FF, but still don't know if it's worth it. She says she might be able to pay more, but I don't know what to ask for. I'd be driving 500-600 miles round trip, one night in a hotel, and meals for two days. What's an appropriate bonus to request?

If you have an average on the lower end, the Hero Citation, which equals a score of 10, can bring it up. So it is not totally without value.

none

I did a bank shop in a rural area last year. When I was telephoned I was asked, "What will it take to get you to do this shop for us?" I had been watching that particular shop and had decided when the bonus got to $40 I'd take it. I decided to be a bit brazen and ask for $50. The scheduler gave me $75. I was happy and impressed.

The scheduler told me he had three shops left to fill across the country so they could complete their contract with the client. He went on to say he had paid over $200 to get one of the three completed so he didn't mind paying me $75.

I suspect that is how one gets a $200 bonus. I keep waiting for more calls like that but so far no luck!

I lol'ed. I should send Ally a screenshot of my hero citation and see how far that gets me next month.

I digress. The gifts mentioned are awesome gestures. It's nice to see schedulers/editors thanking us for what we do when they are in a pinch. Take note Cirrus.
Note to schedulers/editors. Take 2 minutes, and send a note saying thanks for the report, it was great. It really makes a difference.
Thanks. I know some do and I for one really appreciate it, other wise it often seems that you are sending something into a black hole.
Please share the name of the companies and schedulers. I would love to hear about the good from companies as well as the bad.

If you feel uneasy about sharing that information, consider asking the scheduler if it is all right to share.

As for me, I haven't been so lucky to get anything like a bunch of roses. However, I can complement the schedulers and editors at Ardent. The are great at communicating what is desired in their reports and never fail to praise a well written report.

I absolutely agree. For me they are the nicest editors of all the MSCs that I work for. Even when they are correcting you, it is done nicely and constructively.
I have never received gifts; however, my favorite way of acknowledgement is when a company pre-assigns me a desirable shop rather than list it publicly on the boards, so that other shoppers are not eligible to receive it. There is one MSC in particular that pre-books me some of my favorite restaurant shops.
Besides my Hero Citation when I already had a 10 average (it was to keep the wicked witch from messing with my account status with the company), I received a thank you card once and was impressed with that.

I thank everyone for their reports, whether they're great or make me bang my head because at least an effort was made and time was spent. However, I do have some shoppers that I should send a thank you to. I have one I owe some special goody to for being so sweet. Just not sure if what I wanted to send (from my romance company) would make her smile or freak out. LOL She seems a chill chick so I'm thinking she might think it's great. Nothing dirty or over the top, though.

Whenever I was new and did shops for hero citations, I didn't even get a picture of one! How do they look, like a certificate or something? (:
A Hero Citation and $3.79 will get you a cappuccino.

Great stories! More often than not I'd be happy with a return call. What a bonus that would be!
