I did many shops for them years ago and had no problems. Then I did a shop for them in April, and then one in May. Shortly after they sent me their famous form letter saying they did not need my services. , I was never paid for either of my two shops, and they do not respond to my emails.

I don't know if the shops were done wrong, although I'm not new at this so I don't think I made a beginner's mistake. Would have been nice if thye did tell me what I did wrong.
Does anyone know if this company offer jobs in Houston, TX. I ried to access the locaton drop menu to click locaton. However, the drop menu did not populate any of the states to choose from. Email Gapbuster regarding problem never got a reply.
I stopped shopping with them because they owed me money. They pay every month whioich is great. Around the 23rd I believe. Direct deposit. All their information is easy to find unlike Sassie companies where you have to find their main site and even then you likely won't find what you need. Anyways, they had some cell phone shops for locations that were no longer in business. They asked that I go and take photos of the locations. I would still get paid. Pay period came and went, I didn't get paid for those stores. They supposedly had to approve it through the client. I'm talking a combined 51 bucks for two locations that were taking me 2-15 miles off my shopping route. This will be the thired pay cycle coming up next week since completing the first one. I stopped shopping with them in June.

Same thing here. They owe me $35. They were desperate and relentless in trying to get me to the shop. When I arrived it was closed. I took pics. They rejected my report and never paid me.
I did three shops for them that they desperately needed back in March. I drove 140 miles roundtrip out of my way to complete the shops and haven't seen a dime or even a penny. The shops are listed on the board as accepted, but repeat emails to Gapbusters go without any reply.

If anyone has a phone number, please forward it to me as my emails have gone unnoticed.
Thanks.
I know they have a phone number in Australia. However, when I went to their page, it was removed.
Same here. Still waiting for pay from April for two closed locations...total of $92. I've sent many emails, but haven't heard a peep from the "Blokes" lately.

Im not owed by Gapbuster but I want to thank those who are for posting on here.

While you might not get paid, hopefully one day you will be "repaid" by other Mystery Shoppers who will warn you of another MSC to be wary of in the same way.

Thanks again.
Same here, did two shops, bonused, never received the pay promised. Emails go unanswered.
strange to hear all of these non payment problems. i shop for them once in a while and have always gotten paid via DD on time (the following month around the 26th). granted i have never done a closed location. last shop was in june and i was paid on 7/26.
I did three bonused shops in June (I think) and was paid on schedule. I really hope you all get paid soon. sad smiley

I did 5 shops for $35 each back in July for a total of $175 and got the money deposited in my account Saturday August the 25th. The only problem was that after I did those jobs they kept calling and twisting my arm to do 2 more of the same shops in a town 60 miles away. I told them I wanted $70 each for those 2 jobs and they thought that was outrageous. I said hey its getting up to 100 degrees around here every day and that extra charge is for the risk I'm taking of having my car break down on that 100 mile road trip in the dead of summer. They said they would call back and let me know. They called me back 3 days later and said Ok they would pay me the $140 for the two shops. I then said no the price went up to $175 now! Boy they did not like that and ended the conversation. I was kind of hoping I didn't tick them off to the point that they stiffed me but they paid on time so all is good. In my book this company is legit.

I shopped for them in 2010 for several months and then they lost the account that I only shopped (It was the only account they had with shops in my area). I received a msg from them that they no longer were servicing that account and then I received a msg that they were deleting me from their list of shoppers and I would not be eligible to sign up again. I have tried to resign up and it says I cannot. I always received payment from the shops I did for them and always completed them. I do not know why I cannot sign up anymore and am thinking they have no shops in my area. Did anyone else have this experience with them.
I'm a new member here. I'm doing mystery shopping mostly to GapBuster. I haven't had problems until now. I did my assignments in early July but I haven't got my payment yet. Last time they paid on 26th or 27th. I'm waiting for over 250 euros (~315 USD) so I really would like to get that money... I keep on waiting.

I've never been able to call them. If thet call me, it's imposible to call that number back. Sometimes they answer to e-mails quickly, but sometimes not at all. Maybe I should try how long it takes this time to answer. smiling smiley
I am also new. I did a couple of fast-food shops for Gapbuster (UK) in July.

They emailed me about one of the jobs after five days saying I had missed something off the report (perfectly believable with that website) and giving me 12 hours to reply and saying I would not be paid if I missed this deadline.

I emailed back when I saw the email, about 12 hours past this 'deadline', but giving them the answers they were asking for.

Needless to say I was not paid for either job in the August run. My email to ask why has not been answered yet.

I can not see it is reasonable to give a 12 hour deadline for an email reply and presumably deny payment on that basis. Why did they wait five days before asking?

I am not very impressed with them, and certainyl won't be taking any more of their poorly paid assignments if I don't get paid.

[update] I have now had a nice email from someone at Gapbuster apologising for the delay and they say I should get the money in the next few days - so perhaps I judged them too soon.

I don't understand why you would do this to them. You set your price, they agree to get back with you and then you tell them you need more? What was the point?

I did 16 shops for them between February and May this year. I had a couple bonused to $75, a slew bonused at $35 and some at regular price of $17. I did six of the $35 shops in one day, a price I agree to based on getting paid for all the shops which were much further from home than I typically shop (I usually only do ones near my house or on my way to/from work). They were relentless in calling me to get them done and were seemingly desperate... I was getting calls as late as after 11:00 PM! One of the locations was closed, which I reported and proved with pictures. I was paid for all but that one which is listed as rejected/canceled in my history. I've emailed countless times with absolutely no response. They haven't had any in my area either since then. If they get more in my area again and I get more desperate calls, I will either refuse based on non-payment or insist on a much higher fee.

I think the universally accepted rules of bartering are clear that when parties are negotiating terms of a deal and the negotiations break down all deals are off. You can only hope the other party will still take the same deal 3 days later you certainly can't hold them to it. Like I said they paid me and we are still business partners and its all good.
The non-payment issues from what I heard is due to cashflow problems faced by the company. they have been hit badly by the financial crisis and have lost a couple of key clients due to quality issues / poor servicing etc. So if you haven't been paid, you might have to wait for a while before they get the cash in from wherever they can find. I also heard that they even have problems paying their staff salaries and other commitments timely so what hope do we shoppers have! I have now stopped shopping with gapbuster because you do not know when they will go under.
can you please tell me where you heard this from? i don't want to stop shopping for a company that has always paid me on a timely basis without good reason. TIA

Interesting.
I get the impression Gapbuster sometimes suffers from a lack of organization and communication. That said, I've been paid for everything, in full and on time.

Hi G3B, it's from a friend who knows someone working at gapbuster (looking to resign soon). She pulled out their financial records with the help of her accountant and it did not look pretty. I'm no financial expert but better safe than sorry.

Hi Austin Mom, Thks for the welcome. I read the forum before I registered. I'm no speed reader!
