CHC Solutions--Help Please?

I received an email from CHC Solutions re: a casino shop. I was not a registered shopper for CHC at that point, so I emailed the scheduler asking for more information. She asked me to register as a shopper on their Prophet system, I did so, and then I asked for more information about the shop.

She replied asking me what dates in September I would be available.
I gave her the dates and asked again for more information about the shop.
She gave me two different locations and asked which one I would like to shop.
I told her my preferred location.
She asked me again what dates I was free.
I gave her the dates again.
She responded asking about a specific date.
I haven't had a chance to respond.

I wake up this morning to a shop confirmation email. Apparently I'm scheduled for the shop. Good news, the email finally contains the shop information. Bad news, I'm not really sure if I want this shop.

I've never worked for, or heard of CHC before. They contacted me, not the other way around. They do use the Prophet system, so that seems to lend them some credibility. But it looks like this shop is a lot of work and a big cash outlay, and I'm a little nervous. If I had had the shop information the first time I asked for it, I would probably not have pursued it further. But now apparently I've been assigned the shop.

So, any advice? WWYD?

I do not know them, but my big gripe is why do I have to work so hard just to get ALL the details so that I can make an informed decision about doing a shop/ What are they gaining by only giving partial info? Do not get it.
cynb, this is how it works. Provide minimal information, shopper agrees, shopper finds job is way more work than it is worth, since shopper does not want to be labeled a flake, shopper does job anyway, MSC wins.

cake, if you never really requested the job or agreed to it, are you really obligated? You patiently answered the questions while yours were ignored. It sounds like you were railroaded into the job.

My advice is to decline the shop on Prophet ASAP (if you can) and email the scheduler to let her know that there must have been some miscommunication because you did not agree to do the shop. Then, remember this scheduler.
Thanks for the advice. It just sounds like SO much work. It would be different if I enjoyed gambling. But I think this is not the shop for me. Lisa, I think you have it right; they do it this way to guilt shoppers into doing it.
I agree with the above recommendations. Details of the shop need to be disclosed in advance of scheduling....
My advice? Tell them you never agreed to the shop, you were merely requesting information (and had done so several times) and therefore you want to be un-scheduled at this time.

How rude!
It sounds like: "When can you do this shop?".... Instead of ....."This is the shop, this is what it entails and would you like it?"

I would cancel ASAP.

RUN!
I know two people that have worked for CHC. Both were paid, as promised, within the terms stated. Neither have any beef with CHC, and both have worked for them for a long time. They are a very small company, and they have some pretty desirable accounts - from what I understand - I personally have never worked for them.
Obviously the have trouble filling these jobs, my guess too much work for too little pay. I hate when they try to "pressure" you into a job and are NOT forthcoming upfront with the details...I would walk away.
I just got an e-mail from a scheduler from this MSC regarding casino shops in my area. I am not registered with them but I am silver-certified so I am "on a list." I will probably go ahead and register with them but I don't do casino shops. Does anyone know what other types of shops they have, if any?

BTW, this is the first that I have heard of them. I don't see them on the Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies. Does anyone know what CHC stands for, if anything?

It was either a horrible or a "sneaky" scheduler.

One that ignore your emails, assign you the job w/o your final go ahead.

I would black-mark the scheduler, either way. Don't answer her emails anymore.

She either is too overwhelmed or is used to playing this kind of "game."
OP, CHC ? Or do you mean CHG? I have been assigned shops that was not worth the time either. I arrived at a lounge that looked like someone's basement, low ceiling, cheap furniture, serving only limited selections of beer and wine. Since I traveled so far to get there, and I more or less felt committed to do the shop, I did it. Little did I know I would also get a nasty reviewer, that wanted every single detail, and I mean every tiny detail. So, not only did I have a bad evening at a dive, I also got a low score for the report. What would you do when you arrive at a place and it was not what you expected? Walk away? They have given good shops before, so I sometimes do the "not so good" ones for them. But to get a low score on top of that? And lately, I signed up for great restaurants but do not get assigned. I only got one casual restaurant.
