GAPBusters question

A few weeks ago I had a scheduler from Gapbusters call me. There was a shop they desperately needed to get done and they offered to pay me an extra $40 to complete the shop 30 minutes from my home (I am not sure if that is a fair amount or not, but I agreed to it). I have never done a shop for them before. In fact, every time I applied for a job it got rejected. I did the shop, and completed the paperwork that evening. I had a few problems on the report. I was given a choice of three items I could order, however the one I selected wasn't on the report. I filled it out as best I could. I sent a couple of e mails later, but haven't heard anything back.

A few days ago I received an e mail from them stating that if I would complete my orientation and do a job for them, I would receive a $5. I have no idea if I am going to get paid for this job or what I should do.

I have done about 10 shops for them and I got the same e-mail. I have no idea why I need to do the orientation as I did it about a month and a half ago. I would think that if they haven't outright said that your report was rejected that you should be fine.

GapBuster is awful at communication, so if you do try to e-mail, you may not even get a reply.
I have done couple of shops from them. They are a good company however the problem is they are situated in a different country and time zone so communication could be a big problem. The website is not user friendly and sometimes you get stuck and could not proceed and when you use their email support the same thing happens. I was lucky to have spoken to one of their representatives who helped me submit my report. You have to be very patient with them but they are reasonable people and they pay on the dot.

I'm not too happy with them. They still haven't paid me for a shop for a closed location. I've emailed numerous times and sent photos. It was part of a route I agreed to do with bonuses on each to make it worth my while... taking it out of the equation messed that up. And these were shops they were desperate to fill... so desperate that I was getting calls up to 11 pm EST and they were relentless. Pisses me off that in a way I did them a favor doing the shops then I get the shaft on one and it wasn't my fault they sent me to a closed location!
This is a good platform for shoppers. I found it by chance. How can we let more shoppers know about this platform?

I got a call from Gapbuster today too, asking me if I could do them a favour to perform a shopping task. I refused her. To be honest, I was annoyed by their calls, because:

1. when they call you to perform a shopping task, they put pressure on you. I am sure lots of shoppers feel the same. Matter of fact, if I wanted to do that job, I would have applied for it on line.
2. they didn't even offer extra payment. Other companies alsways offer extra payment for urgent jobs. This is the second time they tried to call me to do a job, which is not very close to where I live, without offering to pay extra.
3. their caller ID is blocked. I have a few missed calls showing from "blocked" numbers lately. I wonder if they were all from Buster.

Regarding payment, September payment was delayed. They are the slowest paid mystery shopping company out the 6 companies I am working for and their pay is on the low side. Buster is my lowest ranked company.
Hao,
I have never, ever been contacted by a GapBuster scheduler who did not offer extra payment above and beyond what is already on the website. I was also contacted today to complete a shop this week and was offered almost double what was posted on their job board.

I have never felt pressured by them to accept a job either.

There are plenty of companies out there that pay more slowly than GapBuster. My August shops were paid only one day late last week. Not a big deal.

Oh, and their caller ID is never blocked for me.
Hey Hao,

Do you have the name of the scheduler who called you (like, did they leave you a message on your voicemail or did they send you an email with a confirmation of the bonus-- I just want to take a second to acknowledge, here, how absolutely _vital_ it is to get an email confirmation from every scheduler (it doesn't matter how well you know them) about bonuses so you have something to refer back to, later, if things go awry). If you have either their name or their contact information, you should either call or write to them. Explain what happened (though, to be honest, if you didn't order what was required by the shop, you may very well not get paid for the shop... I have no idea) to them, tell them the reason you didn't order what was requested, and ask about the status of the shop. You might even want to tell them that you'd be willing to redo it if it wasn't done to their specifications. Show them that you're a good shopper, willing to go above and beyond.

At the same point, explain to this person that you receive the email about orientation (and the other) and ask them if that's necessary now that you've completed your first shop. That's what I'd do for all of it. =)

Hope it all works out!

Sending the best,

Jen
