Based on the previous two pages worth of posts, it doesn't seem anyone here has worked with them.

I saw some jobs posted there today. I was going to try one and report back, but I don't meet the age requirement. (insert sad face)
Does it raise red flags for anyone else that this company earlier this month was claiming that they are "fully staffed" and not partaking in standard mystery shops, but are now apparently recruiting and hiring shoppers in a conventional manner?

Agreed that they are obviously just looking to move on from the problems they faced at their previous company, but it seems that when they come from a place where deception and misleading shoppers was a standard business practice, it would be putting their best foot forward to have an open and honest dialog about their need for shoppers, how payment will be assured, etc.
It gets curiouser and curiouser.

SteveSoCal,

As usual, you are on the money. I would stay away from this msc until they are long established and have positive shopper feedback to back it up. Otherwise, apprehension is wise here..
Signing with up shopmetrics platform is the Service Metrics Group way of trying to blend in, on the Mystery Shop Jobboard. grinning smileygrinning smileygrinning smileygrinning smiley
I've worked Shop'ncheck (usng a Marketforce platform) for 4 years and they have always been a good company and paid on time. In the Fall of 2012, the name changed to Servicemetrics and in November of 2012, my payment cheque was refused as NSF by my banking institution. I was shocked, but after contacting the company, there was no hassle - they apologized and issued a replacement. What struck me at the time was that they were not surprised. Then in December I received my payment at the end of the month, which I thought sucked as with Christmas there is always a need for extra income. Normally payments are issued and mailed between the 15 - 20 of the month. In January, the payment was received again at the end of the month and in February it was the end of the month. The payment for March was never received. An email was sent to shoppers advising the payroll was completed and all cheques were mailed on the 20th and to give it 10 business days. It is now April 6th and I'm still waiting for a cheque to come...and wondering if I will get it. The March cheque was for February jobs...the next cheque in April is for March jobs...that is a lot of money and I seem to be getting the runaround.
merry, Shop'n Check was merged into Market Force a few years ago and they use their own platform which remained the same.

Service Metrics is a different company and Shopmetrics is the the platform they are using.

This company is a scam. They sent me a check Fed Ex with instructions to shop at Walmart for $50.00 and forward the balance to the next assigned shopper less my $200.00 pay. I told them I would wait for the check to clear (it was nearly $4000.00). They assured me the check would clear in 1-2 days. My bank said to wait a week. Sure enough, 5 days later, the check comes back as counterfeit! Thank goodness I waited. I am only out the $12.00 bad check fee. Could have been so much worse! Of course no one from Service Metrics followed up. Stay clear of Service Metrics!
Why you would have stake claim in a bogus check in this day and age is beyond me. When you are looking for something for doing nothing, you deserve what you get.

When You do your homework when deciding whether a company slash check is phony, you then reaps the rewards. NO real company sends out money when you have not done the work. You wouldn't be out $12 if you had thought about destroying the check before depositing into you bank.

Scams happens often, we must be diligent in looking out for such. Three pages of information about them, going back 2 plus more years. Apparently they haven't gotten better.

BTW, welcome to the forum. Hope your experiences and shops get better from here on out.smiling smiley
Also, it's highly likely that the "real" Service Metrics had nothing to do with this. The scammers use the names of real companies to get you to do things like deposit bogus checks. Most MSCs have had this happen in their names once or twice at least. Many even have disclaimers as soon as you log in warning you of this activity. It could have been worse though!
Not to be confused with Service Metrics in Canada.. they are actually legit and pretty decent when there are shops
