Twilight Zone time... Market Force

January 22 I did three shops for Market Force -- a hardware store, a tax return shop that is still on hold due to IRS issues, and a Gas station.

Today I got paid for the hardware store, and for another shop I did on January 25 (and a few prior shops). I sent them a note asking if there was a problem with the gas station shop that caused it not to be paid with the others.

They replied with a copy and paste of my shop history with them, showing that I did that shop on December 30.

Pretty good trick considering I got the assignment on January 15.

I sent them a copy of the confirmation email showing the email date and the assignment date of January 22 and told them I couldn't possibly have done it on December 30, but if they think I did, to let me know when I was paid for it.....

Sigh.....

Whoa. That *is* weird. You'll have to let us know their reply to the pay question!

Yeah that is weird. Especially since the pay for that cycle seem to be so early.

But check this out--->remember my receipt with no address and store number----->MF said maybe I went to the wrong address. Wrong address. I shop for them at least 2 x month in at least 8 different but the same chain stores.

Good luck in getting your issue straightened out with MF. Snafus like this give me a headache.

They wrote back, admitted they "had a problem" with some of these shops and promised payment for March 15. I wrote back and thanked them and asked the to please confirm that the fee was $50, not "whatever it was going for in December" and they assured me it would be according to the CPI.

So other than getting paid a month late, all is well.

So glad everything worked out for you, and that it was resolved so quickly.

IMHO, telling you it would be paid a month late was not a satisfactory resolution. I have been asked by MSCs if a missing payment can wait and have also had them make it good immediately. Considering Market Force's own intolerance for anything late or missing, why should a shopper afford them any more consideration than they would afford the shopper? Shopper payments may only be processed once per month, but in all likelihood they process other payments at various times of the month, including those to employees and other vendors.

I think if I'd made an issue of it they might have cut an extra check but this is fine with me. If they tried to do it out of sync, they might screw up something else, ya know? I just thought their answer was pretty stupid, without being able to add "And it was paid on January 15" which would have clued them in that I DIDN'T do it in December because they HADN'T paid me on January 15. Did they really think I wouldn't have some kind of record of when I did the shop?

I do a lot of work for them so I'm not too inclined to tick them off. I love being able to self-assign, plus I've got some other issues working with them (the incomplete tax return shop) and I don't want to be deactivated!

It's actually a pretty decent turn of events to at least have a tangible response from MF at this point. In my experience snafus have had to go through multiple channels with various emails and phone calls from different individuals criss-crossing and it becomes a confusing mess that isn't resolved for several weeks. Considering that Katie contacted them yesterday and actually received a coherent useful reply already is a wonder.
