BestMark Kiss Off?

I tried to login in to BestMark today and got this message:

"Your login is not active"

So what does that mean? Did they kick me out of the system? Technical glitch? Either way I can live with it, I just want to know what it means.

I seem to recall reading that BestMark will kick shoppers out for mysterious reasons with no explanation. Is that what's happened here? Can I now claim this Badge of Honor?

I was signed up with BestMark for a long time without doing any work for them. When I tried to log on one time, I wasn't able to. I tried to sign up and got a message that I was already in their system. Any way, they sent me an e-mail saying they would re-activate me. I don't remember if I sent an e-mail to get that reactivation? Sorry memory fails me.
Still barely work for them, but did one lucruative shop for them this month.
It happened to me. I now think it means that you have either not logged in or taken a shop for a whaile. I just contacted support and they reactivated me.
Yes, what cynb said is likely what happened. Also, I can't remember when, but they made changes to their website and system at some point. I don't shop for them a lot, but when I signed in after the transition had occurred, my page didn't look the same -- I think the old shops I had done disappeared.
The pay varies by shop. I think the electronic store shops are far too much work for the pay. The tanning shops pay well, especially the ones that don't require you to sit in the tanning booth and pretend to get a tan!

They have some bar and grill shops where the pay/reimbursement is so-so, but I look at it as a chance to eat at a favorite place and only pay half price.

They have the best deal around here for oil changes. The other MSCs pay $5 or less in fees because they feel you're getting a sweet deal with a free oil change. Well, Bestmark pays $20 or more in fees, plus reimbursement.

Sometimes they even offer high-end shops - like a $75 restaurant shop.

They have an 800 number. Why don't you call and find out what's going on?

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
I used to do a lot of projects for Bestmark. I had to cancel/reschedule some shops due to illness, and they deactivated my account. I have been trying to get reinstated, but have not been successful.
I had a different MSC do that to me. I needed 6 weeks off due to surgery and gave my schedulers a heads up. I was doing a lot of work for one MSC in particular. They are one of those that email you once a month with offers and you let them know what you can take. When I was able to work I contacted all my schedulers. I didn't hear anything back from the one MSC the first month. Second month, nothing. I called the three schedulers who had been doing my shops and they all claimed there was no work for me. It took 6 months to get shops from one of them, and 2 years from the other 2 schedulers!

Jeez. That sucks, niteowl. You shouldn't be penalized for a legitimate need to take some time off. *sigh*

It's like this one temp agency I signed up with several years ago for office work. I went in and did all their tests, written and computer applications, and passed them all with 95-100%. They said they'd call when a job came in that matched my skills. Never heard a word. They kept putting ads in the paper (remember those days?) listing several jobs that were exactly the type of work I did, and listed requirements as all the computer applications I was fluent with. So I'd call them, and they'd say they didn't know of any such jobs. I'd read the ad from the paper, and they'd say those were already filled. I called Monday, for ads that had come out Sunday. Now a few times, I could see a job listing being filled that quickly, or maybe having been submitted to the paper and then filled before publishing. But every single job, every single ad, for week after week? I just had the feeling that the gal assigning the jobs didn't like me for some reason! It was just really weird. At least it wasn't one of those companies that charges the applicants, so I wasn't out any cash.

Temp agencies have changed dramatically in the last 20 years or so. The business has become very competitive and cutthroat. In all likelihood there were never any jobs to go with those ads. They used them to just get more recruits through the doors.

I suppose so. But this company never charged applicants/recruits, even if they ultimately found them a job. Apparently the employer paid the fees. So it doesn't seem like there would be a benefit to fool recruits. But I just probably haven't thought it all the way through.

It was very disheartening at the time, though! I just wish the light-bulb had gone on back then, about MS'ing!

I use to do a TON of work for them when I started. I am talking 100s of shops in a few months. they were pretty simple to complete... great way to get my feet wet - and learn the ropes.

They will drop you very quickly if you miss or cancel a couple of shops in a short period. They are NOT flexible.

They pay very little - but they pay regularly. I haven't missed them at all.
I think they were the one that deactivated me after I demanded they pay me for a shop where the location was permanently closed. We had several back and forths about that but I did get paid at the going federal rate for mileage expended going to the shop.
