questions about Maritz

I have only been working with them for a month or so now and I am unclear about how their system works. How does the whole "invoicing" thing work for Maritz? Do you have to submit an invoice in order to be paid? What do you do if a shop is past the 14 day window, so it is no longer listed on your "My Completed Shops" page? I looked at their tutorials, but they don't answer all my questions.

Maritz is one of the companies that requires you to invoice them. The have it set up in their system. Each time I finish a shop I invoice it immediately (they have a button for the invoice). Give them a call and check the status of your past shops, they will be able to help you and walk you through the process, for future shops.

If you miss invoicing. Immediately I think you have30 days to submit it.
It takes two seconds to submit when shop is done
Thanks. I called - you only have 14 days and I missed the window. They were able to get my assignments invoiced retroactively, no problems. Not sure how I missed that requirement - it seems like a pointless extra step, but it is what it is... as long as I get paid, I'll jump through that hoop!
Help! You must invoice Maritz? I have only done one shop for them, I didn't know anything about sending an invoice.
Yup. Just give them a call...smiling smiley

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
I've got to be honest, I think that the whole invoicing thing is a vestige of earlier days that they retain now as a means to occasionally not have to pay the individual who forgets, or the newbie who doesn't know. All the information in the invoice is already submitted with the report, including the receipt photo.

Ditto for CFA's CPI. Submit all the information and receipts, but don't forget to go to another page and type your name into a box.
Really?
Maritz is great. I've done many shops for them but just recently forgot to submit my invoice. It was past the 14 day window. I called them and they took care of it. No muss and no fuss.

The invoice is easy. After the shop is submitted the button to hit is right at the top of the page and stands out.
And yes, the first shop I did I did not know. I called, They fixed.
Know, its a snap.
I had some kind of problem with one shop and forgot to invoice it. I called when I saw later shops had been paid but that one hadn't. She put it on the next pay cycle for me. they certainly don't have that requirement hoping people will forget so they don't have to pay them. I'm sure the invoices are just for their internal bookkeeping -- the report goes to the client and the invoice goes to the payment department.

One of the characteristics of being an independent contractor in business for yourself is that you INVOICE your clients. Most MSC's do it automatically. Some do it through IC Pro, which submits the invoice for you. But it's a bookkeeping thing, and part of being self-employed is ensuring you get paid.

I'll cede the first point. I'm sure you're right in that there is no deceptive or malignant intent on the part of the good people of Maritz. I should not post at the tail end of a 16-hour workday when cynicism and impulsivity tend to overwhelm more gracious thoughts.

However, I do disagree regarding the invoicing process. With the Maritz reports it's just one more thing to do, maybe an extra 15 minutes total at the end of entering 6 Maritz reports, which at that hour of the night means 15 fewer minutes of sleep. And more challenging for me, it's one more step to remember, again when weariness is taking its toll. The only MSCs that I do work for that require any invoice are Maritz's extra few steps and MF's type your name into a box. If nothing else, it would be an act of kindness on their part to automate the processing of information on their end after we have already entered it once.

Thanks, though, for calling me out on the cynical slip.
