Freeman Group Solutions - In business? Anyone else been ripped off?

I have been a shopper for over 7 years and have done audits for easily more than 100 companies, but I've encountered a "first" -- the first time a company has owed me money and never paid.

Freeman Group Solutions hasn't paid me for 2 (expensive) casual dining audits done last year.

Anyone know if they went out of business?

Anyone had a similar experience?

They'd paid me for shopping the same restaurant in the past, but it's now nearing 11 months since that first audit was accepted/scored and I'm still out the $200+...

A shame...but could have been much, much worse (e.g. doing a hotel stay, or more than 2 unpaid shops).

Hope it's my one and only burn in this field!

Over 2,000 shops for me this past 16 months and I've only been burned twice.

That's saying that 99.99% of all MSCs are generally honest and up-front.

Both of my burns, BTW, were by companies that were discussed heavily on this forum.

After that experience, I always search discussions here before committing more than $15-20 of my money to a shop for a new company I don't have experience with.

Edit to add: you can also start a thread here with "XYZ Company - feedback please" and the forum members will give you the lowdown. But do a search first using the Google search feature.

Such a shame you didn't come to this forum earlier as the problem was discussed in length quite some time ago. Now, if I ever work with a new company I come here and see if there is any discussion about them first. If there isn't I just start a thread and ask. If the majority of the comments are negative I go back to the company and withdraw from the shop.

I shopped one location **** **** **** <edited for ICA violation>. They owed me over $100. Glad I only shopped once for them. I have have shopped thousands of shops and have always gotten paid.

I can't help but wonder if they will slide out from under their "slimey rock"... with a new Mystery Shopping Company name...

I would be "weary" for awhile with new companies...It could be our Freeman Group snake!

Also, what exactly did they DO with all the money the client gave them....They certainly did not pay their shoppers with it.

Luckily, I got the last hotel shop and then they folded. It took my 7 months to get my money and begging them for it....I said, "never again!"

Thank you everyone for your posts regarding Freeman Group. I am glad to see that I am not the only one that did not receive payment/reimbursement for hotel shops.
