It is taking an unusually long time for my reports to be submitted today.

Is anyone else having the same issues?

...organize the next day's assignments

...ask your mate what that weird thing on his face is just to bug him
...put in a load of laundry
...go through that stack of mail you've been ignoring
...get something to eat
...pour yourself a glass of vino

Repeat as necessary.
