Does Bestmark only do auto shops now?

They used to have a variety of assignments such as wings, fine dining, retail. All I've seen the past few months are automobile shops (test-driving cars and bringing your car in for service). Even the web automobile shops are gone. Is it just my area, or are you guys seeing this too?

I see that too here in TX and actually, there aren't many shops available lately here.

I still see some exit interviews (but only for an electronics store) and some restaurants in my area. I don't see the regular electronics store assignments anymore though and I never see any FD shops.
Yeah, I live in Indiana and there's nothing in my area but New Car Sales assignments. I've only done 2 and hated both of them. Those types of shops are on my 10-foot pole list smiling smiley
I agree, Phoebe. When I first started shopping, I did a bunch of auto shops because I thought $17 was great (little did I know...). I was only signed up with Bestmark and one other MSC at the time, so I had few options. I haven't done one for a long time; I stick to their online inquiry and telephone shops these days. Those, I do like.
They do ice cream shops here and car shops in NY

Many auto shops as well as tanning salons in my area. They are constantly trying me to do the tanning (I have done several of them in the past, don't like them), but they never bonus them. I only shop one or two days a week now, so I pretty much only take higher paying or bonused shops.

I have seen a very occasional wing shop.
I see almost nothing lately, except for the occasional frozen yogurt store.

Always take the high road.
There are some grocery shops, auto service shops, retail shops and a bunch of restaurant shops in my area! I check the job board frequently though, cuz I know they all get snatched up really quickly.
In South Florida it seems like all the other types are gone and its only auto now. Hopefull this changes in the next cycle.
Not everyone can see the same thing. Some shops don't even make the board. They are handed out via email.
I got some e-mails that weren't on the board too - they were the same type of shops that had been offered previously but removed from the board.

In Texas there have been the auto shops, however this past year they've had some fun drugstore shops.
I've only seen car shops and one exit interview. No big electronic stores like they had before. sad smiley
In Indiana, pretty much new car and auto service shops. I've hit just about all the new car showrooms in my market in the past year and don't own the right make of car for the dealership repair shops. So I'm down to doing an occasional fine-dining shop. Too bad, because Bestmark is professional, reasonable and reliable.

No fee, no shop.
They were one of the first companies I signed up with. I have not done a shop for them yet. The only thing listed for me so far is auto shops for new car purchase. It happens to be about the only thing I cannot do. My spouse works in the auto industry. I keep looking but nothing else so far.
It depends on where you are, if you are female, and age group/race. They have monthly beauty purchase shops in MAJOR metropolitan cities, fine dining in the same cities, fun dining in same cities, trendy hotels, and the pharmacy shops that also require a female between certain age. The client for the beauty shops who is the US corporate for many cosmetics lines does different marketing studies so they also require different ethnic and age groups. They also have an annoying account for a mid range casual restaurant chain that you need to get the manager's name, just hate it.
Most of the shops I see here on the west coast of Florida are automotive, either dealership visits or oil changes. Today there are some listed for a major drug store and some video game stuff. I really like the assignments where you phone the service department of a dealership and make an appointment for an oil change or tire rotation. Easy questionnaire and easy money...not much, but I can do it at home in my jammies with a glass of wine.

Have you thought of looking at different geographical regions and do the phone shops for those areas as well? Just block your phone number from being displayed when you call.
There are a few restaurant shops in my area, but mostly auto shops. If you sign up as a new shopper, be prepared to have to "pay your dues" with one of those first, before getting assigned a food shop... only fair I guess ;-)
I'm seeing auto shops, insurance phone calls and drugstore shops where I live.

I also search for jobs in other zip codes (places that I am familiar with). I watch my granddaughter while my daughter works, and I do quite a few phone calls and web shops from home.

I used to live near Jackson, MS, and would get to do some really nice restaurant shops. I miss those! I see that Bestmark still offers those.

Working in S. Arkansas and N. Louisiana!
I used to do tanning shops but don't see them anymore. It might have to do with me telling them I don't do them for the tans and I would need a bonus to ever do one again! Lots of oil change shops and their base pay is 2-4 times higher than other MSCs, even better when they are bonused.

I occasionally see the electronics shops. I was just offered a high-end makeup shop that paid well, but I was wondering what I could buy for only $15 reimbursement?

They also offer a couple of high-end restaurant shops here, but they get snapped up quick!

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
95% auto shops, with an occasional restaurant thrown in. Those go in seconds though. Poof!
I did a BBQ restaurant shop for them first. Then I did the auto service shop, which was great as my son's handicap van was in need of an oil change anyway. There are some more shops for BBQ restaurant and I am pretty sure it is the same one. Anyone know how often you can do the same location with Bestmark?
