Market Force

Well it took 8 months but finally Market Force crossed the line with me and we are parting ways. I did a favor for a scheduler, took a shop I've done successfully 6 times, completed it exactly the same way I did before and had the shop rejected because I did not ask the "right question" at the bakery (Grocery store shop). Seems that my question did not lead to the offer of a sample taste. Hmmmm, maybe because the store was out of stock for the specific item I inquired about except for a frozen variety. The team member didn't offer me a sample taste of the frozen product (a bread item BTW). I have tried 5 times today to explain this to their "help desk" and I'm afraid my last response was a tad terse. I am expecting the excommunication email will be in my in box soon. smiling smiley

I guess the moral of this story is that I have to know prior to asking a question about a specific product that the store is out of stock and think of a different item to ask about. Go figure.

Hope everyone had a restful or at least profitable weekend.

I know. This requirement belongs in the "They know your the mystery shopper thread."

Make sure something is in stock before you ask about it?
I've had shops rejected for strange and arbitrary reasons and didn't get dropped. Don't make any plans to eat burgers o your own dime just yet.
Truth is, we aren't privy to what happens once the client is given the report or what the MSC is knows what will pass and what might. It really sucks because we are the bottom feeder. Basically, we are given on a need to know, lowest paid, but yet but expected to perform the most. That is the corporate world (not that MSCs are corporate, but they work with corporate clients so that is the protocol). You make $6 hr and forget to say "Good morning" to a customer one time and you are written up. An executive embezzles and they are "asked" to resign but still (and required to) be paid pension, retirement, bonus, etc. Sadly, it affects our relationship with the MSC but really we get the raw deal. Even with the same MSC, you don't know who if the client changes the person handling the MSC account. It could've been someone else handling the account and did things their way.
Well I just got my third "help desk" response and, you can't make this up, she told me I needed to know what was in stock before asking the question. smiling smiley. She said I was just lucky they were accepted before. I responded that MF was just lucky I had taken so many of their last second rush shops because no one else wanted them and I felt a certain obligation to help them as my sister has lived with their previous President and CEO for over fifteen years,. (When they were Shop n Chek - true story. smiling smiley ). Oh well, family only goes so far in business, I now will not waste anymore time doing their low paying scraps. Emancipation is a wonderful feeling.

Have a great week my fellow shoppers.
