Market Force

Just started doing shops and signed up with Market Force. They had some fast food shops in my area so I clicked on them. That brought me to a short questionnaire of perhaps 10 questions -- You know you can't sit with anyone on this assignment; You don't have any relatives or friends in fast food within the past 5 years; You can eat beef, fish and fried foods, etc.

I answered all the questions and the next thing I know Market Force says based on my answers I can't participate in this round of fast food shops. About the only question that I thought would keep me from doing this shop was the "relatives or friends in fast food" of which I answered no. Any clue why they won't assign me?

Why did you think that question would keep you from doing the shops if you don't have any relatives in the industry?

Because that's the only one that stood out as to whether I "passed" the questionnaire. All the rest of the questions had to do with "you do know you should receive 2 napkins not 1" "you do know you can't sit with anyone". Like I said I'm new to this so I have no clue. Maybe my Yes answer to the napkin question was incorrect. : )
Sometimes the questions can be a bit tricky and what appears to be a "yes" on first glance should actually be a "no." I have also had issues when moving through radio buttons where they seem to change of their own volitionconfused smiley

I just looked at the questions and perhaps you got tripped up on the one about eating beef, fish, etc. It asks if you have a medical condition that would prevent you from eating those items, so the answer would be "no". I agree the questions can be tricky, so you have to watch carefully how they are phrased.
Brandykat, are you talking about client name deleted shops?

I remember failing the first time too and I couldn't figure out why.... never did figure out why.
anbu6378...we don't mention clients and MSCs in the same threads because of ICAs.

Brandykat... for some reason, sometimes those questions are a fail. I think they just wanted you to not do them. MF is like that sometimes.
Thanks for all the quick responses. I'll have to look carefully next time before I hit the submit button.
They'll reappear soon enough and you'll get another chance at their "quiz."

Because you often have to pass the actual test for those FF places. You can answer the quick questions correctly but if you are not in their system as having passed the specific tests for their clients you won't get the shops until you do.

I hope you were joking. I've never taken a test with MarketForce.

Send an email to the Help Desk. A couple of years ago a new client was added, and I was excited because I love the place. Too excited, I guess. After I did the questionnaire I was told I was ineligible. I couldn't figure out why so I wrote the Help Desk. I had accidentally hit the allergy question as yes. After a couple of months, my ban was lifted and I could see the shops.

I notice that most of the food shops have 2 No questions. So before I hit send I doublecheck to see that I have 2 questions marked No. Haven't been banned since that one time!

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
niteowl,

There is a specific tests for at lest 2 of their FF joints - they are certification tests from the client. I was amazed at the one for the big guys down the street, the guide was something like 20 pages long. Another place in the neighborhood had only 7 pages of study guide before their tests so yes they do exist. They may not have had them when you started but they do now.

Brandykat,

Many of the MSCs have tests you have to take before you can schedule shops - just a part of the business these days.

I just did those 2 certification tests for the FF joints yesterday. I too was amazed at how long one of them was. Did a shop for one of them today but was disappointed that their lunch reimbursement didn't exactly cover the cost of what they specified I had to order.
I just checked my email, after returning from a shop, and almost started hyperventilating. There, before my very eyes, was a shop notification from MF for a fast food shop for $1400! Usually, I avoid those particular shops like the plague, but MF, somehow, had discovered my bottom line. In seconds, I was on the website, ready to snag the shop.....but someone else, apparently, was faster on the uptake. Gone!

No, it wasn't from whats-her-name.

Maybe it was a typo and MF caught it fast and zipped it off the board.

I'm wondering what would happen if you managed to print out the contract with that fee on it, hahaha

Would make an interesting read I think. tongue sticking out smiley
When you hit the "wrong" answer, you are forbidden to do shops for MF for that month.

I screwed up and hit the wrong button (kicked myself) and was given the "we're sorry" letter.

Lo and behold, in the month of February, I am happy to report, I passed the mustard and I can do them again! smiling smiley I was in a hurry and that's what happens...

The reason they do those pre-qualify questions, is because they want to make sure you understand the guidelines in full, and second, they want to make sure you or your relatives have not worked for that particular client.

The thing is with getting dumped with MF, you just have to brush it off and move on. When I was dropped a few years ago, I looked high and low on what I did wrong. After many many emails with different higher ups, I learned that I was dropped not because I flaked or turned in late reports, but because I would mostly only accept the shops with bonuses. At first I was pissed and hurt, but then going on this board made it feel much better as I leared that with MF shoppers are a dime a dozen to them, and they drop them like flies.

Even though I miss the burger and occasional mexican restaurant visit, it's not worth it to keep me down in the dumps. With MF, you are just a number to them! Everything is computer based with them, with mostly no human interaction at all. With real life schedulers, you can email them to let them know about shop delays, problems doing the visit or just asking for general help. These schedulers will even help you getting bonuses if you can fill a hard to reach visit or complete a flaked shop. I love my schedulers so much, that I will go out of my way doing a shop they are having a hard time filing because I know they will return the favor later on. Some even make it a point to call me to let me know of a shop before it gets posted !

In closing, don't get to upset about getting dropped from MF. Many many people before you have been let go, for unknown reasons. With MF it's about quantity and not quality.

drdisney, you speak from your heart. Nice.

Trust me, there's nothing to miss....okay, except for that one exhilarating moment.

No company, in this whole world, which causes you to doubt yourself, is worth it.

I spent a night and day trying to answer questions for a <fast food> shop what a joke. After all of that di=riving 30 miles round trip and eatinf Fast food. It would not except my report something about rounded numbers?? I put in all correct time. Well I learnt a good lesson NO MORE!

Mod note: Hey you seem kinda new here. Please note the forum rule (not to mention your ICA) about not revealing the client in the same thread as the MSC.
MF does not like "0"s and "5"s. Move it up or down one second.

I just had to laugh when I had to input the time from my receipt down for a shop including the seconds. It was 6:30:00. Was I supposed to avoid that somehow?
If I pull up to a shop and the time is 'even'...I wait for a few minutes, then go in.

I'm not taking any chances here.
